I see junpeis story as an analogy of school shooters. That’s why this story is so good and relevant to me. The relentless bullying and the final pact with the devil. Usually starting with the death of the mother, often a single mother. Followed by taking out vengeance on his classmates. A truly horrific story. And portrays the junpei as both the perpetrator as well as a victim. Which is the serious and nuanced way we have to deal with this terrible facet of our culture.

Small detail you guys missed every three episodes the intro would add new characters surrounding junpei, giving us the impression that he was going to join jujutsu tech. Great reactions though!

Sukuna in this episode makes you love and hate him. There's two things you can't forget when it comes to him: he only cares about himself being reborn, and he is very very possessive over who and what is his (which slightly contradicts the first point because you should see that Sukuna takes Yuuji to belong him, body and soul - this means that Sukuna won't let anyone other than himself to seriously harm Yuuji (which makes you love him for protecting our adorable Yuuji-kun! but also hate him for hurting him) Oof)

Elden Ring! For me it was the opposite coz I watched the show first and the thingies in Elden Ring reminded me of this xD Shikigami is I think like cursed spirit familiars or something like that. It refers to the spirit thingies sorcerers summon to help them, like Fushiguro Megumi and his demon dogs.

i dont think sukuna necessarily cares about keeping yuuji alive, like at all, besides using his body to be close to megumi & keep him safe. if not for megumi sukuna could care less what happens to yuuji. at least until shibuya

I hope sukuna always stays pure evil and cooperation only comes from mutal self-interest. I absolutely hated when the nine-tails became good in naruto. I much prefer this grey kinda forced cooperation vibe. So much more interesting.

So Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 5, 2018. That means it published episodes weekly in the Weekly manga magazine "Shōnen Jump". In this case I think y'all are right that Junpei was killed off to enable character development. But for future reference, the same thing may happen again because manga artist/writers for series like this tend to kill off characters that were potential main characters if they don't get a good enough response from the audience so they can introduce another potential main character instead or just for drama to draw readers back in if they start losing interest. (not the case here since Junpei was a highly liked character by fans and is even on some top 10 list for fan liked characters who have been killed off). The anime Bakuman is a rom com anime that walks you through a lot of the basics of thought process between editors and mangaka if you ever are interested in watching that for background on the psychology behind making series like this. It's a complete anime with 3 seasons. I wasn't sure it would be that interesting as a realistic slice of life anime but it was actually really good. Highly recommend it!

i adored the nine tails but this is two different things. the nine tails was misunderstood but sukuna is just evil and lives for his own self gain. kurama was open to being friends which we saw over time how he actually cared for naruto, but sukuna is the opposite. at this point, he doesn't mind whether or not yuuji dies because he doesn't have that many fingers, so he'd be powerful regardless. i'm sure when yuuji gets more fingers, he'll be more inclined to help because if yuuji dies, he'll either be weak or he'll die altogether lol. i agree with you, but i also think that how kurama was helped naruto have an actual story.
