This is also one of the reason there are more people prefer One piece over Naruto , I really respect what Naruto brings to the table tho, but it feels like the series always gets bogged down by ‘Talk no Jutsu’ and too many flashbacks. It’s like, every time a major fight or intense moment comes up, we end up with Naruto stopping to talk the enemy into changing their mind. Sure, it’s inspiring that he believes in second chances and peace, but it can feel repetitive, especially when it keeps happening in the middle of fights where action would be more satisfying. and in a series with so much potential action and character development, it just doesn’t keep the momentum going. And with flashbacks, One Piece only uses them when they add serious depth, like revealing something major about a character’s past. They’re quick but impactful, so they don’t take away from the story’s flow. At the end of the day, both shows are incredible, One Piece just handles character development and storytelling more smoothly

I looked it up and a few things back this up. first of all, Kakashi is 26 in part 1, that would make him 14 when the 9 tails attacked. He officially became a Chunin at the age of 6 whereas Obito did at the age of 11. Obito became genin at 9 which means they have a minimum 3 years age difference.

some guy on reddit named "SilentWolfKills" (?) made a pretty good summary : Kakashi enrolled academy at 4 with Obito and Rin who also were 4 and pass to get in. Kakashi in academy showed talent and reached the requirements to graduate at 5 so he graduated, Rin and Obito stay in academy. At 6 Kakashi passed the chunin exam, Rin and obito still in academy. At 9 Obito and Rin graduated and at 9 Kakashi got put in a team with the 2 in team Minato. At 11 Obito and Rin Promoted to Chunin. At 12 Kakashi is promoted to Jounin he was turning 13 that year so was Rin. Obito was 13 at this time and is presumed dead on that day. Rin dies at 12 or 13. Kakashi after her death which is the same year gets promoted to Anbu at 13 by Minato who became Hokage at 23. During 4th War Kakashi is 31 and Obito is 31. The mm war takes place to 8th of Oct to 10 of October, 3 days of the war.

The problem I have with op beside the awful pacing of the anime is the way Oda keeps introducing things but dont answer much. The same mysteries going one for 10+ years, characters gone missing for years, etc. They released the fan letter recently and the episode with the 2 brothers show what one piece should be imo… had to wait all these years to get a true and serious/emotional perspective from the marine. I feel like the op universe is too big to show everything so we actually dont see much of it. One piece as a whole feels unsatisfying to me (no answer for years and awful pacing made me drop around wano arc I just kept myself up to date on whats going on) One piece awful story flow make a lot of us drop the show… Hopefully the reboot corrects this issue Not even talking about the fact that oda seems scared to kill any of the « « main » » characters which is kinda tiring. I dont think we realize how long its been going on without clean answers about a mot of stuff. I was like 8/9 years old asking myself questions about some things, im 23 and to this days some still haven’t been answered. I decided not to pick up one piece again until the show reaches the end or something really close to the end It’s bad to the point some people decided to do « one pace » and they’re working on an official reboot to make things smoother (one piece can be a pain to read/watch at times)

Although you're correct that one piece outsold Naruto in terms of manga sales, you're only looking at one of the variables of their success. During the time that both mangas were airing (1999-2014) the majority of one piece sales where from japan 70% + where for Naruto its the total opposite. So yeah sales were huge in Japan for one piece. However, in terms of Worldwide popularity, Naruto totally outshined one piece everywhere else. Oda himself admitted that Kishimoto beat in outside of japan (don't take my words for granted a little google search will do the trick). Also, its totally fine to give your opinion on the show but you don't need to bring one piece into this. I really hate how a lot of you one piece fans constantly find the need to bash Naruto. All the jinchuriki were released and it was previously stated without them the tree wont bloom. So as of right now if no ones is the ten tails jinchuriki containing all the tailed beast the tree wont bloom. But it still exists in the same sense that the Ghedo statue did without the tailed beasts and was just the husk of the ten tails. So the tree just currently doesn't have the chakra without the tailed beasts to bloom

It took one piece more than 9 years to match these numbers with wayy more volumes sold. Oh great you lived in Japan! Guess what? I lived in 3 continents America, Europe and Africa. From 2000 to 2016 nobody was even mentioning one piece. Naruto literally dominated everywhere else outside of Japan. One piece only recently started to get popular (outside of Japan) with the live action and the new animation. If you really think that one piece is a more popular franchise globally you’re just delusional dude stay in that infinite tsukiyomi 🤣. I don’t know if you heard the saying « comparison is the thief of joy » ? The reason you’re getting this much push back is because the flaws you’re describing about Naruto are totally subjective and these « flaws » don’t make one piece a more popular show by any means. fckn flashbacks nonstop, i forgot how full of them these few eps are. We already saw obito and rin flashbacks and backstory like a million times and Rin didn't even love him the same way, she had feelings for Kakashi so this amount of flashbacks with them holding hands and whatnot is just lame and unnecessary. 24/7 flashbacks are the only thing i don't like in naruto especially when watching reactions and having to wait few days between episodes. i have no idea how i managed to hold it together when I was watching it 1 ep per week for the 1st time.

Yes, right? I totally understand if someone brings up their personal preferences about the show or pacing. I can accept that Naruto has done a better job in some aspects—both shows are really great! But it’s hilarious when they start throwing around numbers of views, manga sales, and popularity while claiming Naruto is better in those areas too. That’s just silly! We learn in Shippuden you get one chakra nature from your parents. I left everything ambiguous without spoiling, while still responding to my previous comments that were relevant. If his dad’s and grandads main chakra nature is Wind we can kinda guess what his main nature probably is, and his name is Bolt, you should get some sort of guess what his other nature is too right?Was the genjutsu too strong for you?
