People do steal grimoires but they can’t use the others person’s grimoire. They do it to sell it or to burn it and stop the user from using their magic power but it’s not possible to use someone else’s.

They explained in episode 1 or 2 when the guy was trying to steal Yuno's grimoire that only the grimoire owner can use it. However, there are those who still steal other people grimoire to add to their collection of stolen grimoires or for other reasons.

I think somewhere in the 1st/2nd episode when that "1st villain" guy tried to steal Yuno's 4-leaf grimoire, he said something similar that it wouldn't be usable for anyone else. So i think it's only usable by the righteous wielder, and if someone tries to steal, it's for collecting. EDIT: Yeah, i just checked that, it's confirmed.

Black Clover animation and some other stuff downgraded but the story and the way all characters and side characters has a meaningful story and the way they care for them... is what really got me into Black Clover... every character has its use in the story, love Tabata's series man
