You should really try the game. It was shit when it launched but they revamped the hell out of the game and its by far one of the best narrative and immersive experiences I've had with video games. Its such a gem. It went from negative reviews on steam to overwhelmingly positive. Its so good.

Cyberpunk the anime is based in the same world and city and cyberpunk 2077. 2077 released in a VERY poor state. Super buggy. Unplayable for many people. Overtime they have fixed the issues and thr recent dlc they released was praised really well as well as the fixes the game has received. Tldr anime is original story but in the same world as the game

Something interesting with the game is everything you see in the show is actual places you can visit in the game. If you like open world games cyberpunk is definitely a lot of fun!

Cyberpunk 2077 (the game) takes place after Edgerunners chronologically. Both are based on an old tabletop game series from the late 80's/early 90s. Their world is the same as ours up until the 1980s where it splits off into its own unique existence.

I also heavily recommend cyberpunk I have aprox 700 hrs right now in it and I still love playing it. For me the story is just so good and it really makes you focus on it 10/10

there's a lot of just like "world lore" that comes from the cyberpunk world. I could explain the terms and stuff but idk if you guys would consider that to be spoilers, just most people have like a base level knowledge going into this so idk

Once you finish this I suggest you try play the game. When it first came out, it had a lot of glitchy moments but now they fixed all of that. It’s definitely up there in my top 3 games with Red Dead & Elden Ring

Gdam this was good and Michelle please realize we are already close to this way of living in America we CANNOT survive off just money already. No one can afford anything anymore but we’re pushed to want everything. This is exactly how the US is becoming. I was a HVAC tech making 6-9K a month. Decent until I realized I have a back disease and I’m only 24. I work in a deli now for minimum wage had to move back in with my mom my workplace won’t even give me more enough hours to hardly pay my car off because I fall and try to hide my pain from everyone I don’t like people worrying about me I’m good at hiding it but I’m in constant pain every second every day. Life is very hard already is my point but I already am at a state I cannot get surgery I literally cannot live without someone helping me. It’s pretty embarrassing. I choose not to finish college so my little siblings can. I’m the oldest my younger brother will graduate next year.

I'm so excited for you guys take on the show. Pigging backing on what Bogdan said earlier that BD (Brain Dances) are memories that are stored in chips. The people who create those chips are able to adjust what emotions and experiences goes onto the chips. So they don't necessarily have to feel everything that happens in the chip. The game is a gem as well and is in a very good place right now, if you do give it a chance, I hope you stream it and thank you for watching this show.

This show and Arcane are definitely the best game adaptaions shows we got. Even though yes arcane art direction may win over cyberpunk. To me Cyberpunk's stories is the best one we get to watch, I played the game before watching the show and to me, no fictional universe ever got me as involded as I was with cyberpunk. A trash universe in which no one can be happy, let's all be depressed together!

I watch this with the Japanese VA, idk why, maybe I just use to be listen the JP VA on anime all the time. But it got a very different flavour of the anime just like other anime did on the EN vs JP VA

I watched both and I usually watch sub, English dub just matches the Cyberpunk world a lot better. It's the same reason why you should be watching subs for animes based in Japan, it adds realism. Cyberpunk 2077 is based in the US and David Martinez isn't Japanese. The anime if I recall correctly was created in dub first before being localized with Japanese. On top of that, Jamaican and Hispanic accents don't get done well in the Japanese VA vs the English ones. There are tons of reasons why its better in dub this time around. There's even a key scene in the future which I really thought Japanese VA ruined and English nailed perfectly, not going to post it here until it gets watched. So if you still just prefer sub because 'you like the sound of the language' then I mean okay but to be honest, you're far too biased to be recommending sub/dub to other people Edit: the scene was watched, the romantic scene between Lucy & David in Japanese VA was not even close to as good than in English imo

its my third favorite game of all time, behind rdr2 and elden ring. It also has what i'd say is the second best dlc of all time, I would play it at least once after watching this show. Otherwise you are missing out, some of my best experiences gaming, roleplaying as a cyberpunk spy while stoned
