I really have to say something about the whole Max deal: why do you blame Vane? It's not his fault, he actually ordered Jack to free Max without letting the crew know. Yes it was him who captured her, but for good reason! She revealed to Flint the location of the exchange for the schedule, from his perspective that was a betrayal that, as Vane said, deserved an answer. And Max started it all by blackmailing Silver and forced herself in that situation... she didn't do it for a noble cause or because it was the right thing, she did it because she wanted the gold, that's it. I'm not saying she deserved to be raped, I wouldn't wish that to anyone, but she's definitely not innocent in all of this and just because she's a woman it doesn't mean she shouldn't face consequences for her actions: she blackmailed Silver, she conspired with him to sell stolen property from Flint crew and then she betrayed Vane and Jack by giving up the location of the trade to save herself. Finally, about her offer to Eleonor: I totally get why Eleonor refused, she spent all her life on the island and she put a lot of effort to gain the position she has now, a position of power and wealth among men, pirates above all, in a era where women had nothing of the sort. And she should have throw all of it away, in light of a possible loot that could drastically change the fortunes of Nassau, just because Max put herself in deep shit? Thanks, but no, thanks. I do think Eleonor was very unfair towards Vane though, she blamed him without thinking like it was him to get Max raped... he had nothing to do with it. He captured her, but it was the crew who did the beating and the raping, not him. Sorry for the long message but I really felt the need to express my thoughts about it, because I always read and listen to comments blindly defending Max and I can't stand it haha

I'm not defending Max and I never said anything about genders. I'm saying rape shouldn't have been the only answer and while yes Vane said to let her go she had already been abused by the crew. And I do believe a crew is a direct response to their captain. Eleanor had warned Vane that his crew was too wild and caused too much damage. I don't believe Vane didn't know what the crew was doing to Max. Especially after the conversation he had with her afterward. So to be clear yes there should be consequences, no it should not have been brutal rape.

Thanks for your thoughts (: hope that clears up my POV
