Study art for some upcoming Patreon reward art. When I did the May the 4th be with you Picarto stream I somewhat surprised by the strong interest folks had for seeing me do MLP/ Star Wars crossover art.

Well here's Octavia as bounty hunter in The Mandalorian universe. Her outfit and armor is not based on any specific character from the series, but instead it's a collection design elements I found in my research.

Same is true is for her weaponry. The Mandalorian blaster pistol is heavily influenced by the Bergmann -Schmeisser 1894 No1 pistol. Ian at Forgotten Weapons has done video about both the pistol Link and its appearance in the TV series. Link

In fact it was the use of actual firearms as design inspirations in the Star Wars universe that really fired my imagination, a long with the awesome space ships designs, and set on the path of being a professional illustrator.

So for Octy's pistol I drew inspiration from another late 19th century, Austrian semi-automatic pistol the 1891 Schonberger-Laumann.  Link

This Saturday 9/18/21 starting at 5:30pm Pacific I'll be streaming again on Picarto.

Octavia Melody

I always loved the look of the Mandalorian armor.

Thwaitesy

Maybe her hair has the same properties as Rosemary's.

I think I would be curious about how the helmet fits and where everything goes (including, yes, all that hair). But I am curious about the ears and the 'muzzle'. I can sort of infer the muzzle part, but my brain keeps wanting to think her ears are squished down, perhaps with earbuds in them to send sound to her ears.

Very much like the Swat Kats OC you did recently you really did a nice job on capturing the feel of Star Wars without actually using any direct items from it. These kinds of pieces are really neat to see your thought processes and how they evolve. :)
