So! We meet again! (Patreon)

The cold morning fog blew steadily onshore shrouding the beach in a grey, obscuring veil. Its presence masked the arrival of the giant crustacean; With ponderous steps the massive crab emerged from the surf and made its way up the beach. Its heavily armored limbs creaked and clack as it continued its slow march inland. It had only traveled about 200ft when it spied a lone figure standing in its path. 

     A slim, white figure defiantly blocking the crab's path. This sentinel's blue-violet mane and tail swayed in morning breeze. Garbed in a brilliant white blouse and short skirt this new opponent watched silently as its foe approached them. In their left hand they held a long slim, ornate target bow.  Hanging from their right hip was a quiver full of arrows. 

     The crab slowly came to a creaking stop about 75ft away from this new figure; its eye stalks turned and swiveled as it examined the being blocking its path. For several seconds there was silence. Then Rarity broke the silence. 

     "So! We meet again! You Brute! I warned you what your fate would be if we ever crossed paths again!"

      In one quick motion Rarity drew an arrow from her quiver and nocked it. With equal grace the unicorn drew her bow and fired it. With unerring precision the slim shaft pierced right eye of the crab. The crustacean hissed and clattered as it suddenly waved it gigantic claws in the air at this unexpected assault. Then started marching forward with greater vigor. For her part Rarity had broken into a dead run away from the crab the moment she'd seen her arrow strike true. Speed, agility, and range were going to be the tools she'd have to use if she was to defeat this monstrous foe! 

     The 2021 Tokyo Olympics have ended, and this was a drawing I started during my previous Picarto stream. Someone in the chat requested I do something involving the meme of Rarity vs the Giant Crab. Link  However I held off finishing the drawing until my stream last night. I did that because I wanted to demonstrate how you could create the appearance of different textures, materials, surfaces and lighting effects in graphite pencil. So during the final hour of the stream I worked on that drawing and then finished it today.
