Afternoon Ride (Patreon)

This is a commission I finished right before Babscon. The client wanted me to do an illustration of them and their SO's anthropomorphic avatars along with one of the automobiles they own. This project required a lot of coordinating to make certain all of the elements in the picture were to the client's satifaction.

The posing of the characters and the Mazada Miata was inspired by the car magazine ads of the late 50's and 60's. Since the Miata is the modern equivalent of the great roadsters from that era it seemed like a natural choice.  The piece is a mixture of colored pencil, marker pen, technical pen, and gouache on vellum finish Bristol board.
