From a dream in one of my Anthro MLP dreamscape variants. In this variant Rarity along with her parents and sibling are a family of genies. Most genies in this setting are individuals with free will and agency; they will hire out their services and powers to individuals, companies, institutions, and national interests.

These beings will sign into contracts that define the duration of their service. What kind of services they will offer, and maybe even more important what the genie will not do.  Also since they are all individuals the type of magic, strength of magic, and what their specialties will vary from genie to genie. So if you're looking into hire one it's important to first find one who's qualified for the job.  Example Rarity's little sister has primarily used her talents to be a professional model. Studio Shoot.

Along with being a noted a fashion designer Rarity runs a consulting service for both genies looking to offer their services and other being looking to hire the services of a genie.  She can run credit and background checks on beings looking to hire the genie. Offer counseling and training for genies looking to stay update with the latest in fashion, culture, and etiquette. Finally she can help match up a being with a genie who available for hire.

Now Rarity usually doesn't take contracts herself, but sometimes one will strike her fancy. Vintage Year For that reason she needs to stay on her game as well. So she often practices her skills and talents. Good first impression Of course it's important to get a second opinion. This time it appears she's ask Rainbow Dash for an evaluation.
