A patron reward for one of my earliest fans, supporters, customers, and patrons  Richard Westberry. Now Richard is very much into black powder shooting, and he's a big fan of one of my longtime muses. My OC Rosemary Parker who's a female skunk.

So I decided to draw her in buckskin clothing carrying what is often referred to as a Kentucky Rifle. Even though many of these rifles were actually manufactured in the Pennsylvania area from Mid 18th Century until the first quarter of the 19th Century. In particular I drew inspiration from the rifles made in the Allentown area.

One thing I wanted to try with this piece was recreating what is commonly Tiger Striped Maple for the gunstock. Although other woods can be faked to give this appearance, but stocks like this are commonly found on rifles heralding from there.

The buckskin jacket and boots/ leggings are loosely based off examples I found in a book on the Lewis & Clark Expedition.
