Schiavona sword study drawing (Patreon)

When I posted the drawing of anthro Pinkie Pie as bard A song for the road several individuals sent me notes asking what of type rapier she's carrying. 

        What the mare is actually carrying is Schiavona style sword. It's has what is often called a basket-hilt which protects the users hand with a series of bars in basket-like cup. This sword was popular with Italian mercenaries and other soldiers from the mid 16th through the 17th century.  myArmory.com has a very interesting article on the sword.  Link
