M26 MASS Gun Pig (Patreon)

More imagery from the MLP/Aliens movie I saw in my sleep one night. One of the tools the Royal Space Auxiliaries had at their disposal was M26 Mobile Autonomous Support System or MASS. Although it was called the Gun Pig by the troops because of the squeaky/groaning noise it made when it moved sounded like a pig. 

     The M26 could act independently or as part of a combined arms operation. One feature of the M26 that the Auxiliaries liked was its ability to generate a one way force bubble that blocked or deflected incoming fire, but permitted troops inside the bubble to fire out. Unfortunately while the force bubble was fairly strong it had a rather limited timespan and could be overwhelmed by saturation fire.

     For offensive weapons the M26 carried a dual weapon system that used the same cartridges and grenades as the M41A weapon system. Just a whole lot more ammo. 2,000 rounds of 10mm and 250 of the mini-grenades. However even with that capacity they could run dry very quickly in an engagement.
