So this is kind of a random thought but here I go. The first time I watched this show, I always thought Omar was just the cool renegade badass anti-hero the show needed to push it over the top. After rewatching it a few times, while this is still true, I find him to be a bit more of a hypocrite who got what was coming. He's not as bad as Marlo or Avon but he was messing with the wrong people's money and got in too deep (I'd have wanted that nigga dead if I was a drug dealer too lmao). Still a great character and still an anti hero but not exactly a knight in shining armor. It does make sense that it was Kennard that got him. For one, he was idolizing Omar in S3 and seemed disappointed to see what he had become, so it was sorta predictable that he'd try to take him down given how batshit crazy he was. Secondly, Omar always overlooked the kids, just like how he said Michael was "just a kid". It's also funny how Michael (who becomes the new Omar) beats the shit out of Kennard in season 4. It's almost like a premature bit of revenge lmao.
