Solomon Wong

lollin at the speculation in the intro over the meaning of "Johnny Cakes"

Alexander

How can you not feel bad for Vito, it's so sad.

Alexander

Would you guys rather hang out with season 1 Tony or season 6 Tony.

Alexander

Would you guys hang out with Tony in real life?

PIG

lol No, not really. He's great at pretending he's your friend, but he'll always just be looking for that crack to wedge into.

PIG

... that sounded kinda sexual, what I said. Huh.

Alexander

Are you sure though? I really feel he's a genuine friend to Artie and other people he's close with. If you're nice to him most of the time he will be cool with you too. I relate a lot to him in the sense that, I put GOD first and second, like him now, I value animals verse most people, but cool people like you are really chill and kind, while most are npc toxic a-holes. I'll admit Tony can be one too and spiteful. He has his flaws, like for instance that fbi agent on his payroll in season 1 was always nice to him and he treated like literal shit. Aside from that, later in the seasons he was actually a nice guy to people.

Alexander

Nahhh I don't think he's really that much of a bad person to backstab you. Sure with the thing with Artie but was that his fault? And the gambling guy from season 2, Tony tried to stop him! Tony has many flaws but I don't think he would try to backstab his friends, idk though. He can be an asshole like to Chrissy so you're right.

Corina Perez

Formal is the best. He'd pull out and nut all over the contract! Bralik saying all Tony's blood was going to his baguette was a great line too.

Corina Perez

I have no use for AJ. However, he is a very young guy. It takes time for people to find their way. This is a kid who has been handed everything in life. Time and experience will help him mature. He'll always be an entitled person, but that's what people with this upbringing are like for the most part. I think AJ is a recreational drug user. Hes not a junkie like Chris. In therapy, Tony saying that Carmela did her best raising the brat always rubs me the wrong way. If that kid is fucked up, that's on both of you. She isn't a single mom. Tony has a lot to do with that kids behavior. I think Johnny Cakes willingness to accept Vitos apology after the fight is because he knows how difficult it is to come out. He has a daughter. He gave the hetero life a chance, and it wasn't happening.

Ryan O'Neill

I definitely understand finding AJ annoying but I actually like what they do with the character, not taking him down the traditional path of becoming a gangster like his father. And don't worry, we're definitely not getting the cokehead son storyline (which would suck lol). I think what they're going for is a story about the negative effects of privilege and entitlement on a person's upbringing, as well as being forced to live in the shadow of your successful father and not being able to live up to prior ideas of masculinity, and you'll see where this leads in Part 2 of the season. I'd also recommend checking out Pure Kino's video "A Defense of AJ" once you're done with the show. He does some good vids on Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad etc. Just don't look up the channel yet or you'll see a ton of spoilers.

Sol95

Imagine a crew with AJ, Jackie Jr., Matt and Sean, lead by Carmine Jr lmao the stunad mafia. Also Junior denying the knife, gangster to the core.

Ryan Bobsaul

I mean AJ is only 18 at this point. To say there is no hope is a bit extreme. Lots of people are fucked up at that age and turn out fine

Michael Kang-Beats

Exactly, and look who had to look up to. I imagine it is more likely that kids with these parents have teenage years more like AJ than Meadow. The show's commentary on modern masculinity's listlessness is also worth noting. From the very first episode, we're told the show is going to explore this notion.

Alexander

I was just gonna comment "see told you" but then I heard you mention that I am the only one speaking the facts that Tony Does get better! These Sopranos fans, most of them just parrot what other people say and can't form their own opinions for their own or just don't see it our way. Literally the man seems "better".

Ryan O'Neill

There's no plot spoilers there lol. By saying that AJ won't become a fucking mob boss, I'm not giving anything away. I mean, did you watch the Junior scene in this episode? AJ is literally the opposite of Michael Corleone haha. I'm very interested in seeing their reaction to the AJ stuff and definitely wouldn't want to give it away. I wouldn't dare hint at anything beyond what I've said, don't worry.

Alexander

I hate how you all sopranos fans make fun of Carmine Jr. He's actually a thoughtful guy, looking out for Chris. Telling him he usually goes to the bar when he hits the hotel but he knows Chris is in aa so doesn't want it to be a problem for him. Carmine actually makes sense when he says things it's just the npc normies who want to make fun of him cuz he says things in a unique phrasing. Secondly look up videos on how Carmine is actually a genius, and he wins in the end and didn't fight like an idiot and live a stressful life, he got to sit back and be rich and enjoy life.
