A sad parallel with Cutty and Spider: when Cutty first meets Spider and wants to show him some boxing moves, Cutty throws out the "I ain't gon' hurt you" as a way to goad Spider into participating. In this episode, he's actually being sincere about not wanting to hurt Spider, but it has the exact opposite effect. It's just sad how even suggesting that someone could hurt him gets Spider's defences up like that. You can tell he was actually taking what Cutty was saying on board until that moment.

Norris mentioned Carcetti getting elected because he couldn't believe that a guy who just happened to be a witness was killed by a random stray, which Carcetti used to slam Royce and get the push he needed to win. That's one thing I love about this show. It shows how random occurances can lead to major consequences just like in real life.

Harford Countyl is northeast of the city. It's mostly rural with a few suburbs. Not Connecticut, lol. Dunno if yall follow boxing, but Cutty is loosely based on the dude that trains Tank Davis. He came up in Upton gym, who are the ones that beat up Cutty's kids when they spar in season 3. That's Tank's gym.

Heads up - "Overnight" is my favorite documentary. It's the rags to riches and back to rags story of the guy who wrote and directed Saints. I've seen the feature film once or twice but the doc at least ten times.
