Iruma the WIZARD

Sullivan wasn't a fool, he has a human grandson going to a demon school, so he prepares magic rings for Iruma to use magic and have support. Iruma's magic is very polite and the use of the rings and magic ore it helps him develop the magical apparatus battler. He even is able to use fraccion rings, ring beasts that serve and protect Iruma.

Chapter 1 WIZARD

Sullivan had adopted/purchased the human Iruma from his awful parents, who without hesitation sold him to a demon. Sullivan wished to raise Iruma as his grandson, even enrolling him into a demon school.

Now the demon may seem carefree and jolly but he was a powerful and clever demon, so he wasn’t a fool. A human in a demon school, he’d be in all manner of dangers, and he couldn’t be there all the time to protect him.

Iruma was clearly nervous about all this but he had accepted this whole deal, even signing an adoption contract. It was all official. Sullivan brought the boy down to a room with all manner of magic stones. “I’m gonna teach you about a magic even humans can use.”

“Really?!”

“Oh yes, long ago humans had found these magic stones, and through demon arts they learned how to harness the power of these jewels and performed real magic.” Iruma had heard that humans could gain power through crystals. “That’s a bit of snake oil, earth gem stones would need to take hundreds if not thousands of years to harness mana, there’s so little in the human world.”

Many of the mystic arts that once held power in their world had dwindled down to myth and legends, there were hardly any true believers anymore. “Long is the era where demons make packs with humans...though I got lucky!”

“Oh yeah…” Iruma forgot he was taken by a demon x human pact.

“Opera,” Sullivan called for his vassal. The red head appeared bringing in a case of small stones.

“Here sir!” They opened the case for Iruma and these magic stones were carved down into shard shapes.

“You see Iruma years ago before several advancements in demon technology demons used this method to find out what affinity they had for magic.”

“Ehh, but Grandpa, I’m human I don’t have any magic power.” Sullivan shivered in joy at being called Grandpa.

“Yes, yes, yes, you are human but just because you are human doesn’t mean you are defenseless. There is all manner of magic gear and tech used in this world, many families have made businesses harnessing their bloodline magic to be used by the masses.”

Opera explained there were three types of magic, Verbal Magic, where a demon used an incantation or command phrase to help visualize their magic and cast a spell using their mana.

Non-Verbal Magic or Mental Magic, was magic honed or blessed to an individual that they can use it with only thinking.

Bloodline Magic also referred to a Family Ability or Inherited Skill, is a unique magic that exists in a specific bloodline.

The stones Sullivan showed him were once used to help find one’s affinity for magic which could help them grow into learning non-verbal magic. “But what about magic items?”

“Very good Iruma, yes over time we demons have made many advancements, similar to humans with science we used magic stones.” Sullivan’s territory housed quite a few mana crystal caves that they mined and shipped out for production into goods used all over the Netherworld. Even the magic items made from bloodline abilities had only maybe 20% of the capabilities the family had. “With the surplus of magic stones, I’ve continued to do research into them...but listen to me jabber on why don’t you pick one up.”

“Oh okay…” He looked at the box, and each stone had a striking color to it. The red one was picked up. “It’s warm!”

“Yes this is a flame mana stone, for some reason or another this stone has drawn in mana and it’s retained the properties of fire. If you had a fire affinity it’d glow brightly.” Sullivan explained, he really did find magic stones and their properties fascinating.

Most Demons were all about power, even those who embraced the modern demon world, saw magic stones as nothing more than batteries or amplifiers. Over use of a magic stone caused it to lose it’s color and crack.

Iruma picked up the Yellow Stone, it felt weirdly heavy, but also familiar like sleeping out in the woods. “That’s the Land Stone.” The Blue Stone felt cold and wet, like holding water in his hands. “That’s the Sea Stone.” When he picked up the Green Stone he felt a weird breeze. “That is the Sky Stone.”

These four stones were the Element Quartet, once seen as the basics of combat. Iruma picked up the orange stone next, as he touched it he was able to feel the mana of the world around him. “What is...this…” He shivered.

“That is the Netherworld Stone, it’s the most common stone in the Netherworld, as such it is the most versatile in magic.”

Iruma picked up the next stone and it felt weird, heavy and light at the same time. “Now this one is quite rare, this is the Void Stone, it grants the user power over gravity.”

The next stone was Cyan. “This is the Cloud Ring, it gives one power over Thunder and Lightning!” As Iruma touched it, he felt a jolt. The other stone was Indigo. “That is the Frost Ring!” Touching it Iruma felt a chill. Then there was a golden brown stone, that looked almost like Amber. “This is the Forest Stone, it has unique properties of flora and fauna.”

Iruma’s eyes couldn’t help but sparkle, they were all so beautiful and just by touching them he could feel their unique powers. “With these you’ll be able to attend Babyls without fear.”

“Huh?”

Sullivan showed Iruma some rings. “Demons can use the magic stones in the form of accessories, to amplify their magic and spells. For a human like yourself, you’ll be able to use them to do magic.”

“Really?!” The bluenette couldn’t help but be excited.

“Oh yes, ancient humans used to use them this way, I believe they were called Wizards.” Iruma’s heart soared, the fear of going to a demon school was replaced with a joy to learn magic.

Given the harsh life he lived, he often dreamed of a magical solution. “Can...can I really use magic?” He looked too cute.

“Yes sir, magic is really very simple, it’s best to properly visualize. Want something, give form to your desire, and the magic stones will let you have it.” Opera explained.

Iruma got to bond with his new family, the trio working through the night crafting magic rings for Iruma to use. Sullivan explained there were other magic stones in the world, but these were what he had in his collection and available to use.

As Iruma crafted his rings he thought about what he would need in case he was caught. Defense was key, if he was attacked he wanted to be able to protect himself. If he needed to run away, he’d need speed, so Dash was created.

He didn’t want to hurt anyone, even as Opera suggested he make some Offensive rings. Having worked at a manga company he remembered some of the more fantastical powers characters had, and it helped him decide. Hold, Slumber, Shrink, and Bind.

Each of his rings were made with Netherworld Stone.

Sullivan had made him some rings, Aroma – This ring would mask his human scent. Iruma was given a ring of each of the Element Quartet, and an Amber Stone Ring.

Opera was also talented in ring crafting, his intricate crafting even surpassed Sullivan as he crafted a fraccion ring. “This is Dragoon, in a pinch he’ll protect you.” Despite the large and bulky look on the rings, as soon as one slipped on, it shifted, perfectly fitting to Iruma’s finger, fitting comfortably as if it was a part of his body.

The Aroma ring was placed on his left pinky finger, while Dragoon was placed on his right pinky finger. All he had to do to summon him was take the ring off.

His other rings were put into a fanny pack-like device, it served as a bag of holding it could hold his rings and help them be magically protected.

Despite the protection Iruma was still nervous for the orientation at Babyls. He was doing his best not to stand out.

Sadly, Sullivan, sweet doting grandpa Sullivan, wanted to show off his beloved Iruma. ‘Why?!’ Even putting him up to give the opening speech over the Honor Student Asmodeus Alice. ‘WHY?!’

He had no idea what to do, but Sullivan gave him an ancient and forbidden spell to read. If he had flubbed it or fumbled, he could have blown up!!! What was the benefit? The spell made it so he wouldn’t trip or fall for the whole day…

‘WHY IS THAT A THING!?’ He just wanted this day to be over, but Asmodeus was pissed at him.

“I challenge you to a duel!”

“WHY?!” This one slipped out his mouth.

“You dishonored me, so I shall defeat you in battle and regain my honor.” He conjured some flames.

“Please I really don’t want to fight you.”

“You might be the Chairdemon’s grandson, but I’ll show you no mercy!”

‘He’s not listening at all!’

Their fight drew a crowd, there was no stopping this. Asmodeus unleashed a barrage of flames, and Iruma dodged.

He dodged, and dodged, and dodged!

Because of his hard life, Iruma developed a natural defense against danger. If he had a bloodline ability it would be called “Overwhelming Crisis Evasion Capability”. So he dodged Asmodeus’ flames but wasn’t fighting back. “Why won’t you fight me!”

‘Because I don’t want to…’ He thought. “Please, I’m sorry can we just stop this before someone gets hurt.”

“And Iruma hasn’t taken any damage so far!”

“That must mean, he’s pitying Asmodeus.”

“He doesn’t want to hurt him because he’s so weak.”

The peanut gallery was not helping this situation. “I’m gonna end you!” His flames burned hotter.

Iruma panicked and began searching his bag. ‘Let’s see he uses fire, so I’ll use water, and I need to stop him so…’ He slipped the Bind Ring on his left pointer finger.

“Magic rings, are you seriously using that baby magic against me?” But since Asmodeus was drawing closer, Iruma began to panic and instead of grabbing his Water Ring, he grabbed the Forest Ring.

“Please…” He wanted this to stop.

His rings activated and vine-like chains sprang up from the ground. “Ehh?”

“Why you…” Asmodeus struggled, which was bad. This plant was known as Snake Ivy, the perfect plant for binding spells, as if the target struggles, it snakes and constricts them further.

The vines slipped under his clothes. “Ahhh~!” The pinkette shivered and gasped. “What is this...you curr!” He continued to struggle causing the vines to slither deeper and reach his most intimate of areas.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” Iruma panicked and tried to pull the spell back, but pulling caused the vines to pull out, and since they were under Alice’s clothes.

RIP!

The honor student was stripped butt naked. “OOOOOHHHHH!” The crowd hooted and hollered.

“Still you mock me!” Iruma panicked waving his hands, and the vines waved with his movements. It was completely innocent but it looked like a mocking gesture. “You are dead!”

Asmodeus conjured a sword of fire and ignoring his naked state, he charged at Iruma. He hacked and slashed, reducing the vines to ashes, but Iruma still dodged, side swiping Alice’s momentum.

The fire user was gonna slam into the crowd with a flaming sword. “Watch out.” Iruma caught him, trying to stop him. ‘Oh no we are gonna fall!’

A magic pulse was felt and wham!

Iruma accidentally hit Asmodeus with a German Suplex! KO! It was a flawless victory.

He switched rings and used Dash to carry Asmodeus to the nurse’s office. ‘Aw man, this is bad, he’s gonna be even angrier with me now.’ Iruma wanted to ask his Grandpa for advice, but as he walked to his office he passed by a dark haired young man with golden rings on his finger.

As they passed, his bad habit took over and he snatched one of Iruma’s rings. “Hm?” The ring began to grow hot.

It was Dragoon!

The ring beast manifested and began to attack Jazz. “Waaaahhhh!”

To be continued
