Hi guys!

The Rosemi animation is finally done! You can check it out on the link below :

Whew, it's been a blast. I kind of overestimated my computer speed, so I never expected myself to miss the mark. Millie's animation is still rendering, and I already finished animating both of these since last week's update. Anyways, this is the new Rosemi Animation "Autumn of Roses". I hope you enjoy it!

With that said, since this is already in September, I'm going to give an update on my VN Project in August.

Project Synthetic

To start with, MAIN MENUS! It looks pretty good in my opinion. The theme primarily revolves around the idea of "The Bridge between Antiquity, Post-Modernism, and Cyberpunk". It has an excellent vibe and I'm pretty happy with it. It is a good framework for me to make further improvements easier.

I made several background CGs this month. Boy, it is hard. I feel pretty overwhelmed by the art direction that I'm aiming for. I want to make it have the same vibe as if we are walking on Rodeo Drive. It is a lot harder than I expected, so some of these CGs might be subject to change.

In addition, I made some improvements to the gameplay UI. Any clickables on the map get a better icon, and the events icon will pop up if there is a cutscene.

Inventory UI is significantly improved. It provides a framework that enables these parts to be integrated into the primary gameplay system.

Backend Development

Most of our priority is in the battle mode. "Alpha" is having a hard time making it, while I'm working on the Frontend-Backend Integration, animation, and concept design. I'm pretty much a technical artist at this point. Previously, I have been handholding him for quite some time. However, I realize that it sacrifices my time to focus on the front end. It is unfortunate that I need to make "Alpha" walk on his own. But it needs to be done so there could be more content in the art department. However, I'm still pretty okay with it. Morale matters more than skills. It doesn't matter how skilled you are if, at the end of the day, you are just going to bail out because you don't feel it anymore, which is like, 99% of most games on itch.io I would say... "Alpha" is still having fun working together on this project, and it is enough for me to be happy with his willingness.

Additional Info

I have finally decided on the color theme for the project. For the sake of documentation, these are the following color codes:

Dominant = Black; RGBA(0,0,0,216)

Secondary = White; RGBA(0,0,0,216)

Accent = Purple; RGBA (94,0,85,216)

In addition, the art direction would be realistic instead of CEL Shaded. I kind of realized that with the amount of manpower that we have, it is just downright impossible to do experiments on shaders.

Logos and Icons are pretty much done, but they could need some improvements.
