It’s so funny because it seems every westerner who doesn’t listen to much Kpop has that same first impression of did he just say STD before they realize he’s spelling his name. A little bit about his name is that Agustd is literally his BTS name Suga spelled backwards with the added DT standing for Daegu Town which is the city he’s from. I’m sure other people have already talked about this but Suga was actually an underground rapper before he joined BTS. He got a lot of hate for leaving the underground rap scene along with RM of BTS to become an idol. This song is to those rappers that would hate on him and he’s pretty much like you should be happy I left the underground scene because if I was still there you wouldn’t have been able to make a name for yourself because I would’ve been dominating the rap scene. BTS especially RM and Suga used to get a lot of hate which fueled several diss tracks like this one saying fuck you to the haters. As they matured they turned their anger into love and it became a message of don’t listen to the hate and just love yourself be proud of who you are. It’s very similar to the message that Stray Kids have in a lot of their songs. It’s why BTS and Stray Kids have become so popular because they took the hate they got and clapped back while also preaching love and being authentic to who you are and never apologizing for that.

Cracked up when you realised he was spelling his name but also, you're not wrong about him emphasising 'STD' He definitely knows what it means and given the other similar vibed references in the song I imagine he's using the pun and play on words to say he's infectious? contagious?đŸ€·â€â™€ïž which he certainly is. He was the first member that made me look at BTS seriously and even though I'm JiMin obsessed, Suga will always be my firstđŸ˜†â€ïž

I absolutely lost it at STD, I’m sorry Teddy 😂 That said, I think you’ll enjoy Deachwita by AgustD! Definitely one of my all time favourites

Would love to see your reaction to one of the songs from the rap line in bts! The video is a live performance and has english subs on it! Also Agust d is Suga from bts! The song is called Tear-here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDuaJGYe8EQ

I love that you homed in on the “tongue technology” because that’s one of my favorite parts, too! I think the line saying that other “rappers should be thankful for I am an idol” can be looked at in the context that rappers who are part of Kpop groups (known as idols) aren’t highly respected by the Korean rap community. Here, AgustD/Suga is saying that since he is so busy producing, performing, and traveling with BTS that he couldn’t focus on his solo rap
sparing other rappers from being overshadowed by him. I think you will really like Daechwita!

The BTS Rapline is top tier much like the Stray Kids one. BTS is 3rd generation Kpop and Stray Kids is 4th generation Kpop, which means BTS is older and has been around since 2013. You will probably get a lot of requests for BTS rapline tracks because they are great but just know that BTS uses a lot of Korean language metaphors, symbolism, and word play that requires watching an explanation video to fully grasp the meaning. Definitely worthwhile but you should probably plan for that. As far as Agust D, he is Suga from BTS, his solo name is DT Suga backward meaning Daegu Town (his home town) Suga. His solo stuff is great, since you will be exploring Deachwita next here is a little background the title is a type of military style music that was known to be played when announcing royals or high governing people in the past. Agust D song samples this type of music and it goes with the theme of the MV. There is a lot going on in the video so I will let you discover that on your own. Cant's wait for more reactions and I will definitely be making recommendations as you go. Thanks!

UGH! (sick rapline game imo), Baepsae, Cypher, MIC drop and Run BTS are defo check worthy from BTS in terms of rapping. Atm they're all focusing on their solo careers and one of the members, Jhope, has just released his album that you might wanna check out, especially song called Arson.

Ay Teddy! It’s like he was rubbing it in your face after you realized it wasn’t STD!!đŸ€Ș😂😂 I knew you would catch it quick cuz you’re so good at breaking the lyrics down but good on you for keeping it 💯and genuine with your reactions! đŸ‘đŸŒđŸ«¶đŸŒ

Would love to see your reaction to ‘Joke’ by RM of BTS! Also - as others have said - ‘Daechwita’ by Suga/AgustD. Both of them are so good. I too would recommend watching a lyric explanation video to better understand the genius and quality behind the lyrics, as without the cultural context, it just doesn’t translate well. The channel DKDKTV on YouTube have a playlist called ‘explained by a Korean’ which I found really helpful - they also have explanations for ‘UGH’ and ‘DDAENG’ by BTS rapline. One last recommendation - BTS - Interlude: Shadow. I just love it!

Ahh I thought you'd love Agust D (aka Suga)! When (if?) you check out BTS as a whole I just want to say that please don't just check out their 'most popular' songs, because I can assure you that you won't like them haha 😅 and I'd hate for ARMY (BTS fans) to come for you... đŸ€ I recommend anything from their rap line, such as Tear, UGH, and Cypher (there are 4 Cypher songs), and then as a whole, Mic Drop - Steve Aoki remix, Baepsae (no MV though), and Fire!

Ahhh Baepsae, has to be one of my favorite BTS songs of all time!

I agree with this. They have a broad range. I feel their earlier work was more hip hop and then they shifted a bit over the years. Ugh, Tear, the Cyphers all great suggestions. Solo projects from the rap line are more hard.

Cyphers please, all 4. Cypher pt. 3 Killer personal favorite. Thanks for this reaction to Min Yoongi.

Please please react to BTS rap line and their cyphers
I promise it will not disappoint ! Cypher 3 being my favorite. Something I would like point out when it comes to BTS and their raps.they love word play. Word play that typically only makes sense in Korean.. the true meaning behind it gets lost in translation sadly. But I think since you have now been connecting rhyming words in korean for SKZ. you’ll be able to see their rhyme schemes a bit too..

The moment when realisation hits you about the STD 😂 😂 sooo funny, love all your reactions, Thank you
