I, too, am back in my full blown dissociation era. The funniest thing to happen so far is I put a fully empty 3L bottle of juice back into the fridge and when my mum asked me about it I told her I haven't even opened it yet, what do you mean? I opened it a week ago apparently ✌️

I always get so confused in leftist spaces when the met gala happens. It's always support artists and art. And when an event supports hundreds of artists making handmade clothing. In support of a museum that is free to the residents of NY. those same spaces and people are like ew not like that.

Best years of my life have been 30s! This streaming life thinking 30 is old is redonk! 5 full days at Disney is wild, I would run out of things to do Had to look it up but the costume institute at the MET is the only part that has to self throw events and, I believe, fundraise. They spend 3.5 mill to throw the gala but end up tripling that for the exhibits. Seems like an insane amount of money to put a costume exhibit together but what do I know! First world problems, am I right?!

Maya's initial reaction to explanation of the Met Gala was frustrating. Fashion history and preservation is a legit charity. Fashion communicates quite a lot about our history from politics to culture. The Met Gala supports the arts. The fashion houses pay for tables, which is the cost for what is essentially their biggest marketing moment of the year. It both funds the museum that preserves their work, and shows off their work.

My ex had a dissociation/depersonalization disorder and I remember that my weird autistic ability to remember every minute detail (body language, facial expressions, tone of rooms, etc.) helped when it came to describing events when "episodes" (don't know the proper term) happened. It made it so that I could basically help them relive the moment in full which they appreciated

Super late comment but John Galliano is also the Head of Maison Margiela (another fashion house) which was worn by a lot of people on the carpet. This is not to free Kim or any others of responsibility but just an observation.
