I strongly recommend eventually reading the book. It goes into better detail each character's motivations. It in particular sheds light on why Camille cuts words into herself.

Couldn't wait for the final two episodes to come out on YouTube and finally made a Patreon account haha. The last two reactions were so worth it. So glad you all loved this show. It really is about intergenerational trauma. The Calhoun Day episode wasn't in the book, but the book's writer (who also wrote on the show) created it, and if you recall, Camille referred the the woman Amma played in that backyard play they put on as her "great great great great grand victim", which also really speaks to that theme. And Adora's monolgue in the final episode also speaks to that with her mother Joya. And Camille and Amma were both abused by Adora, but they took their pain out in such different ways. Camille takes it out on herself, and Amma takes it out on others. The book really delves into more detail about it, and goes a bit beyond the TV series so we get some more answers from Amma. But in the scene where Curry is reading the end of Camille's piece -- those are actually the last lines of the novel. I'm sure you know the author of Sharp Objects (Gillian Flynn) is also the author of Gone Girl (and she wrote the screenplay for the movie), and now she's set to do an HBO miniseries based on her second novel, Dark Places, which I look forward to you guys reacting to eventually. There's a 2015 movie adaptation starring Charelize Theron that I sincerely hope none of you have seen yet - it's mid and you should save yourself for the HBO version! Also, one last thing that comes to mind (so sorry Patreon isn't letting me add paragraph breaks haha), the director of all 8 episodes was Jean Marc Vallee, who sadly passed away a few years ago, but he's also the director of the first season of Big Little Lies (and executive produced the second season), which I think you guys said is on your radar. Looking forward to those reactions too! P.S, I whole heartedly think "Don't tell mama" is the best TV series finale line of all time. So many shows get finales wrong, but the director made the right choice ending it where he did. Just perfect. Gillian Flynn actually had to convince Jean Marc to shoot the scenes where they show Amma committing the murders and using those In a post credits scene to give some more closure, if I remember correctly. God, and one last fun fact: Led Zepplin let's VERY few movies and shows use their music, but they made an exception for Sharp Objects.

ALSO (I'll never run out of things to say about this show, but just one more): the floor in Adora's room is made of ivory, and Amma basically recreated it from the girl's teeth in her dollhouse. (Which is also why she wouldn't let Adora take her dollhouse in episode 7 and rather let her poison her). And the bed covers in the dollhouse were made from the dead girls' hair in the books. And that girl you saw posed on the windowsill of the dollhouse was in the same position the second girl's body was found in episode 1. Also had a laugh now thinking back to episode 1 when someone told Amma and her friends to be careful because someone's killing girl's and they responded with "not the cool ones". And in episode 7 when the cop tells Amma's friends to slow down skating because a drunk driver could hit them, and he implies the driver will be male and they say something like "it could be a girl chief, don't be sexist". SO many clues and eastereggs to spot if you ever do a rewatch, which I'd highly recommend. Going in knowing the twist is almost as fun because you look at it completely different knowing Adora has Munchausen by proxy syndrome and is poisoning her daughters, and what Amma's been up to with her friends. God I love this show.
