Not all that glitters is gold. But some is. And there are things more valuable yet.

Like the Cave of Wonders in Disney's Aladdin: there was a sea of obvious valuables, but the real treasure was the oil lamp containing the Genie. Anyways, kudos to the Mink for seeing past the deception!

I'm thinking the entire wall is a door. Push or pull in the right spot and the while thing swings.

Like Tut's tomb which was behind a wall and overlooked.

Excellent tactic! Mink has already established that she can just make gold so stands to reason the ancients would have less concern for their wealth. :D Very curious if all that actually is what it appears to be. But the logic of magic in this setting implies a continuous source of energy/power is needed so illusionary wealth would be harder to maintain than just using the real deal. And I don't think we've seen anything about 'curses' yet, sure the 'modern Baracki' could use that altered zombie spell like a curse but don't recall anything else truly curse like that could be attached to the wealth.

Like the Leprechaun's gold, the treasure will turn into dross if it's handled by the wrong sort.

Skunkupine

Not dross - pure cobolt-60. Of course it won't stay pure for very long.

Hmmm, Cobalt 60: https://media.aintitcool.com/media/legacy/images2006/Cobalt60books.jpg
