Sneak Peak: Big Maps and Worldbuilding (Patreon)

Abit of a rambling post today due to one major reason, I've had the flu, in fact I spent almost the entire day yesterday in bed. Which is very frustrating, because I cant make new content and I’ve had so many awesome ideas for maps lately! Anyway, enough complaining about my health, let's talk about new stuff!

First up as a few of you already know on my discord, I have made a new worldbuilding channel where I post my setting on World Anvil called The 4th Race. Not much on there right now and still very much a work in progress but if you are not on the discord and haven't heard of World Anvil then make sure to check it out! It's a great site to help organize worlds for RPG’s and so on. In fact they recently obtained the rights to put 5th edition D&D stat blocks on the site so you can include monsters, weapons and spells from the manuals really easily. Next up lets talk posts and schedule, while I was ill, I was thinking about a few things and I realised that if something does happen I don't really have any kind of backup to post and share because as soon as I finish something I normally post it. I do want to continue this to some extent but instead I think I will make a few smaller maps as filler in case they are ever needed. Not sure what these will be just yet and I’m open to suggestions! 

I also wanted to show off something I was working on very roughly a few days ago which is a little over the top in terms of scope…

A normal, average map is drawn and inked on one piece of A4. A larger map is done on a piece of A3 paper or two A4 bits, like the Dragon Turtle map for example. This map is the world map for my setting and is a colossal 12 A4 pieces of paper all linked together. You cant see very well but the rough outlines for continents and such have been worked out already. I won't be working on this full time, and will probably take me a few months to finish (or longer) but it's also a test for the future and trying to create a mega dungeon or city you can explore square by square.

Finally, since I won't be posting again for a few days I will just say the next map to be done is called the glowing tombs and it's going to have with some cool little details!
