Usually, I read about a service cracking down on NSFW stuff and I think I probably won't have to worry about that for a while. I'm just doing text for the most part. No one cares about "depictions" in written works, right?

In their infinite cowardice, P a t r e o n has made C o n s e n s u a l N o n - C o n s e n t a violation of the t e r m s of s e r v i c e. (Yes, paranoid about being found for speaking out about it.) Hypnosis is explicitly called out as not allowed. I tend to lean on that kind of thing. The full requirements are daft. Works have to make sure that all c o n s e n t is explicitly given. I image sarcastic writers putting in text like this:

"Do you c o n s e n t to me removing your blouse?"
"I do"
"You have to say I c o n s e n t"
"Oh, I c o n s e n t"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Given your c o n s e n t I will now remove your bra."

And so on.

What does this mean? Well, I'll probably be looking into subscribestar.adult. I might move the stories off site. I might even put them into encrypted pdf/zip files. No idea what level of "protection" is or isn't too much.

If you have any thoughts about this, let me know. Would monthly releases of a PDF located on a download site work for everyone? (Yes, I know. Nothing can possibly work for everyone.) How many of you would never (or can't) use subscribestar.adult? Would like to join me in venting? Comments are always encouraged.

FUCK. The placement of the menu button below the item means once again I've deleted David's comment by mistake. It was in my browser window so I'm copying it here: --- How much more restrictive are the new rules than DA is for its subscriptios? I wonder to what extent a disclaimer at the bottom of a story would help... -- Dk asked about a disclaimer. This is the full text about consent. Read the sentence that ends with "not permitted". From: https://www.patreon.com/policy/guidelines#sexually-gratifying-works Consent It is paramount that Adult/18+ creators demonstrate consent in all works (real or animated; photo, video, written, audio) between adult participants or characters; specifically, a freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous indication of consent by a statement or by a clear affirmative action. Additionally, participants and characters must be able to give consent (i.e. not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, hypnosis, blackmail). “Consensual non-consent” works, in which participants or characters engage in simulated non-consensual encounters, are not permitted. Accompanying a work that features a non-consensual encounter with a statement claiming that the encounter was consensual is a violation of Patreon guidelines.

Ew. That's comprehensively annoying. Doesn't bother me too much, as I'm not generally interested in such stories, but... "This is a work of fiction. No real people were harmed in its production." Someone's trying to be squeaky clean so they can sell out.
