Amazing episodes. Emilia and her reflection, Garfield and Elza's passionate fight, and finally that Ram scene. So excited about tomorrow's episodes! Isn't that Satella thing a spoiler? I don't remember anything in the anime suggesting it. I guess I'll just skip the discussion parts from now on.

Funny thing is that a lot of S2 was outsourced to China and Korea. And they didn´t even have action director. Eyes, ears are unshaded, art style is less detailed, less background art, some times blurred, animation sequences cut short :D But it still looked amazing. White Fox had more employees listed on other show Mushoku Tensei and they needed it to succeed. So there is a room for improvement.

I have no clue what's spoiler and what's not when it comes to YouTube comments, whether it gets revealed in last two episodes of S2 or it's LN exclusive scene. I guess it's the latter. I should stop reading Re:Zero yt comments for good it seems which would basically kill half of my enjoyment as I like to see what everyone else thinks. I just felt like it was very important to bring up that information, it's kinda big deal, but I didn't consider people that potentially didn't know that information, I apologize, I know it's 2nd time that it happened with you. I don't plan or script my discussions, I just get excited talking about things I enjoy and chances are that things like this can occur spontaneously. The big hint in anime is definitely Satella acting very differently when she attacked everyone in Sanctuary when Roswaal also got absorbed by those shadows and her whispering/saying that she loves Subaru, while the "other one" during tea party was really chill and wanted Subaru to love himself.

Lol, I didn't notice any of that. xD It still looked pretty good to me. Thanks for sharing that, it's kinda wild to me personally that this wasn't even their main focus and still looks really nice.

Some more info. 1)You were right, Emilia never looked into a mirror since she got out of the ice because she was afraid of how she might look like since everyone always labeled her as a witch. Puck was the one who helped her get dressed and did her hair. Her looking at her reflection was a really nice moment to show that she is no longer afraid. 2) Emilia is a half-elf just like Satella. This means that one of her parents is an elf and the other is human. Since we know Fortuna was an elf we can pretty confidently say that Emilia's father was also an elf and thus her mother was human. Taking a look at the Witches (since Emilia gets called Witch's daughter a lot) it's hard to discern if they are human or not but Satella can't be Emilia's mom, since she is a half-elf like her, and Garfiel states in this episode that one of the witches was a vampire like Elsa. There is also the timeline issue. Emilia was 7 when she got frozen, spent 100 years frozen and then woke up 7 years before the start of Re Zero. This means she was born 114 years ago meanwhile all the Witches exept Satella and Pandora got killed 400 years ago. It's a whole mess of partial informations, so at this moment it's hard to do more than guess. Minerva could very well be her, but her meeting Emilia was a change from the Light Novel. In the Web Novel Emilia actually met Sekmeth after the trial and the whole scene went completely differently. Still, Minerva might actually still be the best candidate we have right now. 3) About the future trial, this is what I managed to understand. Subaru to Reinhardt : "You're a hero. A hero is all you can be.", Reinhart then says : "I...", but gets caught off by Subaru saying : "Thanks for the help!" which makes sense since Puck said those words in Subaru's present trial so Subaru is the only one who remembers this phrase being said before. Whilhelm says to someone : "You cannot even wield the sword whithout it, thief ?!". What I presume is the voice of a slightly older Petra says : "Subaru, I know you and Emilia-neesama are both tired. And yet I ended up just weighing you down further". Rom speaks about Felt "My precious granddaughter has grown into such a fine lady, no?". Otto wishes this : "If that's the case, I should've just been wrapped up in that cave and left for dead !". Who I believe is Al says to someone : "I'm sorry I couldn't kill you". Crush yells : "Under no circumstances shall I be killed by something as nonsensical as a curse !". Priscilla says : "There, you see? I win again". Ram reflect on this : "To think someone I wanted to kill so badly turned out to be a kind person", I think it's either Roswall or Subaru. Julius laments : "If I bend my knee and lose my sword, what's left for me ?". Anastasia cries wishing this : "What's so hard about sayin' I don't want to be alone ?". Garfiel yells : "I'm gonna kill you like I promised, Natsuki Subaru !". Roswall says : " I made the realization that I have not walked alone all this time, that is all", could he be referring to Hektor !? 😳 Frederica says : " I suppose we must shed every last drop of blood in our bodies to atone". An older Felt yells : " You can just stand there running in place! Magic, dragons, whatever stands in my way, I'll destroy it !". Felix says very panicked : " Why won't the soul take hold ?!". And finally for last Rem says " I believe praying to ask for a favor is arrogant. Prayer should be to seek forgiveness ". Let's hope we don't end up hearing these lines in the future, or we might be stuck with a horrible future.

The fight between Garfiel and Elsa is one of my favorites, it's just so feral as you said. Emilia facing her reflection has to be one of the most beautiful moments of the series, I always get chills at that part. I honestly didn't think that Minerva was Emilias mom, I just thought because she knew her mom so it made her emotional, but that is a very interesting theory. Oh and I think you missed it but when Emilia saw Echidna in her grave she didn't recognize her, so make of that what you will.

Episode 23 is just amazing, the animation, direction, and soundtrack are all masterpieces. Both the fights in the episode were so hype and intense. It was also one of my favorite endings to an episode in season 2. Also I don't know if anybody informed you about this but Roswaal did not directly cause the attack on her home village, i think it was a weird translation. What actually happened was that their village was going to be attacked by the witches' cult and Roswaal heard about it, but he did nothing to prevent it.

It is kinda scary if we compare Emilia´s second trial to Subaru´s. If it is supposed to show "ideal" alternate world, then for Subaru it would be the best if he died while others mourn over his death. I´m worried for his future :D No, wonder he tried to kill him self when he was at the tea party with witches.

Oh and apparently arc 5 which is the next arc is very action heavy, so I can't wait for that especially because of this episode. If it's anywhere near the amount of intensity and hype the Garfiel vs Elsa fight made me feel, then it is going to be another masterpiece. (Also Elsa is dead because when garfiel bit her she noticed that she stopped healing, so she can't heal anymore) Sorry for so many comments, I had a lot to say lol

I'm with you in thinking that the Ram-Roswaal thing is framed in a... questionable way. But the story is so good otherwise that I try to give it the benefit of the doubt. My generous interpretation is that Ram ended up realizing Roswaal was a slave to his delusions and wanted to set him free, and so all of the terrible things he's done in service to his delusions can be atoned for once he is set free, in her mind. I also think that since she doesn't remember Rem currently, that makes Roswaal a larger presence in her heart than he might be otherwise. Love the symbolism of burning the book and thus the "predetermined future", and even then you said "we can write the future ourselves" when looking at Betty's blank book. Watching this I have a feeling that Echidna is disgusted by Emilia since she is free from her own past now. Maybe Echidna is jealous of her ability to face her own demons. Similar to how Roswaal can’t believe anyone else can get over their past since he can’t

No worries, man. I know that you love reading those comments and I will never ask you not to do it. IMO some of them go way past revealing cool little details left out by the anime into obvious this is going to be revealed in the future when relevant spoiler territory. Keep doing what are you always doing that's why we love you. Just try to keep in mind that sometimes source readers are very let's call passionate and some of them have complete lack perspective. They treat the source like Roswaal treats his gospel.

I like it too how Garfliel thinks highly about Subaru here at 38:55. But it also makes me sad knowing that Subaru will probably/definitely die a few more times before reaching his goal and disappoint Garfiel's genuine belief in his boss in a few different timelines. But whatever, I've realized that 2 episodes of Re Zero in a row it's a bit much, a lot of stuff, I was like wtf, I don't know what just happened and etc.. Even despite the fact that I watched this anime multiple times lol

Mess of partial informations is the perfect choice of words to describe trying to theorise in Re:Zero haha, there's so much to think about, but it's great.

Also Roswall saying that is really making me believe that he is sharing body with Hektor and hence why he speaks like that, it's really scary xD
