Hey everyone!

I've been pretty busy as of late with the release of shapes, as I've been working on updating it with a big dashed lines update, as well as the upcoming URP/HDRP support and polygon filling!

Speaking of polygons...

Triangulation Video Project

I've been wanting to start making prepared/actual videos for a very long time now, and, since I'm now hecking fully supported by patreon and the asset store (aaaaa thank you all so much 💖), I'll from now on be dedicating at least one day a week purely for video creation stuff!

The first video will (hopefully) be a relatively short one just to test the waters a bit before committing to larger projects. It's a practical breakdown of how the ear clipping polygon triangulation algorithm works, designed to make you fully understand every step along the way, as well as having everything you need to code it yourself!

I really hope this will go well, and, please feel free to pressure me and ask how the video is going just to make sure I don't get stuck polishing unnecessary things~

finally - in case you missed it, I now have a stream schedule!
I stream Thu/Fri/Sat, 17-21 CEST

That's all for now, stay tuned!

And as always, thank you all so much for your continued support, I hope you'll like the things to come 💖

(oh, ps: make sure your patreon username is up to date and all, in case it has changed or it's an old nickname or something~ I'll very likely include your names in the credits of the video as a little thanks!!)

Yay! It's an exciting topic! I've only used the ear clipping technique. This might be out of scope of the discussion, but do you know of ways to nicely UV map random polygons?

Freya Holmér

It depends on the use case! the most common one is likely to map it with a planar projection, such as for polygons as floors/ceilings, and so forth. Otherwise, more fancy mapping is always going to be context dependent

Is this video still in the works? Love all your work 👌

Freya Holmér

unfortunately I painted myself into a corner with this one, and I instead made the bezier video. but I might pick it up again!

Max Love

Oh no problem, seemed like an interesting topic, I haven't watched the Bezier video yet so I'll check that out!
