This video confirms 2 things in my belief. (It's my personal opinion. Please read with cautions)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhgwIhB58PA&ab_channel=Veritasium

1. To learn anything, people don't learn by relying on only one perception or one method. We use them all. But in different ratios.

2. There're 2 stages of receiving information. (it's not a scientific term, just my term)

2.1 Passive Data receiving - it's about how well your organs can passively get information about what you want. Such as, if you can hear better, you may able to analyze more patterns in the song than others. But this is not short-term memory. It's just an echo.

2.2 Analyze, breakdown, and entanglement process - this stage is how you manage the information you've just received. To create a short-term memory. This stage happens in your brain the moment after you receive the information and only YOU can create links with it. To get a better memory link, you may have to put time and effort into it...such as

- create your own story about what you want to remember. (mind palace, scripting, etc)

- generate the picture you just saw in your own way. (motion graphic, text, etc)

- generate inner monologue or virtual music band playing songs

- etc.

And you can perform ALL techniques at once. you may mainly focus on visuals for some subjects and focus less on auditory, or do the opposite for other subjects, or anything as you want. I'm sure if you can use them all, you'll get a better quality learning time.

PS. stage 2.2 takes time. I spent almost 20 mins to break down and create a visual link, spatial proportion, and much more technique just for remembering only 1 drawing pose. Or spending 1 hour to remember Katakana alphabets.

It'll be hard and slow at the start, but if you practice more, you'll get faster at remembering things.
