You only have to pay the difference to upgrade to the next tier. When you update your pledge to the next tier, Patreon will automatically amend your current pledge, and give you back the remainder of days in your pledge in credit, which applies directly to your new pledge. TL:DR: subtract what your current tier cost from what the new tier costs, and that’s what you have to pay to upgrade.
