Some great photos of the SS-N-14 Silex missile.  This is the rocket-boosted, glider-carried, air-dropped torpedo the Russian navy uses.  There is an anti-ship variant of this weapon, but it's not as effective as their other Anti-ship missiles, so it's nearly always used in its ASW configuration.

The top body is the rocket-propelled glide unit. The bottom is the torpedo.

Cool weapon from an engineering Perspective, scary from every other POV. What is the NATO equivalent?

There were a lot of more or less similar NATO-systems US Asroc and Subroc, French Malafon, Italian MILAS and the Australian Ikara. But I am pretty sure most of them are out of service by now.

Guess it is all done with Helicopters, Drones and Airplanes now, make room on the NATO ships to put other goodies.
