While we're in the region-- I've read that the JMSDF is launching a new SS class, the Taigei's. Can we talk about those, or does the JMSDF have too much US technology for comfort?

The sinpo-c submarine also seems to be a prototype of a conventional attack submarine in replacement of the romeo. I would seem to be North Korea taking advantage of the simpo-c to test ballistic missiles and a new attack design at the same time. It's going to be interesting to see if more sinpo-c submarines are produced with or without the ballistic missile tube

Very cool. You cleared up a lot of things I was not clear on regarding nk subs and missiles.

I found a disturbing video of a bear with his cub standing on top of a Russian SSBN and getting shot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW1WWbOkIQw

Anyone having sound issues watching on an iPad? Getting no sound.

I seriously doubt this sub can do 16 knots surfaced. Swedish subs have a similar hull form and weight and they can't do more than 11 knots surfaced because the hull form is optimized for underwater travel.

Honestly this Sub Brief should be on your youtube channel to attract more patrons. It's so rare to find info on North Korean submarines and missiles.

Yes the sound works when watching from a web browser to Patreon. The issue is with the Patreon app. The problem is not on your end.

Truly exceptional and positively fascinating. Thank you.

I just hope your channel isn't targeted for retribution by North Korea's state-sponsored cyberwarfare organizations similarly to how they attacked Sony Pictures for releasing a ridiculous trashy comedy movie that made fun of their 'great' leader.

Keep up the great work, it's so incredibly rare to find credible information with such detail and excellent presentation quality about this topic! :)

To me this seems the Simpo C is a final step to building a indigenous clean sheet design. It might take a while but the cat is out of the bag. Just take a look at Iran’s sub program. I’m willing to bet since China is a lithium ion battery developer and manufacturer that a reduced battery capacity on the Simpo C is mute in the long term. North Korea might halved have acquired the technology all ready.

North Korea has nothing to export (no "carrot"). They are using the "stick" of their nuclear missiles to extort the world into feeding it. North Korea has a failed government and economy, and can only support themselves (badly) by leeching off of others.
