For months, many of you have asked me to branch out into ships or naval aviation. This month we begin Warship Briefs with the OHP class Guided-missile Frigate.  Commonly spoken "Fig-7".

Awesome, I'm looking forward to these. If possible can you look into a future one on the Canadian Halifax class frigates. As a Canadian I've been told how our ASW capabilities were extremely good, it would be interesting hearing an outside opinion.

I'm looking forward to this! I was on the Wainwright (CG-28, a Belknap Class Cruiser) in the early 80's and would love to hear the assessment of a "cruiser" with one 2 arm missile launcher and one 5 inch gun. Just before I got there, the Wainwright finally got Harpoon installed.

We had Perry Class frigates in our battle groups during my Med and WESTPAC Deployments.

Cool, looking forward to learning some more about naval warships and there many different designs, thanks. Is this strictly a ship specialized for asw warfare only or is it a jack of all trades and master at none?

If we eventually get a DDG-51 sub brief i will go nuts, and speaking of since there is a FFG-7 brief coming, why hasnt there been a LA sub brief? is it stuff is still classified and you dont want to reveal anything? or some other reason?

He has said in the past he will not cover US boats to avoid inadvertently leaking US classified info. Inadvertently releasing classified stuff from other nations of course is fair game. So no US submarines of any kind and no active surface ships or other vehicles. While I'd love to see a brief on the Arleigh Burke or Los Angles Class as much as you, I respect this rule of his.
