--Names on Cactus Rock graves are mostly some series directors spelled backwards, plus a famous saxophonist. --After Buggy and Koby, future cover stories will barely be referenced, let alone animated, so I hope you read them at the appropriate time, spoiler-wise. They're short, maybe you can react to them. --After ep 69, you are already able to read 4: Buggy's Adventure, Diary of Koby-Meppo, Jango's Dance Paradise, and Hatchan's Sea-Floor Stroll.

Like Dr. Veritas said, I hope you react to the cover stories. Maybe like on stream every couple of arcs or so. The cover stories are sometimes very plot relevant and important but never fully animated. After this one with Koby, if a character that had an important cover story comes back they'll have a brief flashback where the character summarizes what happened. But it really looses the charm of seeing what a character has been up to long before they reappear. Also if the cover story doesn't seem important enough they will just skip the retelling. I know there's a playlist of slideshow-style youtube videos showing the cover stories in color, plus some of the fun color spreads that Oda drew at the time. At the very least it would be worth checking those out, even if you don't decide to react to them.
