Chapter 2

Matt´s in a loss of words. When he walked there, he wasn´t expecting his new neighbor to be so tall!

Height´s not the main thing you´ll think about when meeting someone new. Sure, it´s unexpected when you meet someone, let´s say while they are sitting, and once they get up, they are taller than you thought, or expected.

Now, Matt was experiencing it. As the boxes came down, he realized this woman, who had just said her name was Brianna, stands so much taller than him!

A full head taller, and maybe more.

Matt´s heart skipped a beat. Was he intimidated? No, just surprised. Part of him thought she may be standing over something, or that they are in uneven grounds. But the truth is, it´s nothing like that.

Brianna was a tall girl, standing at a towering 6´10”, she was an amazon. But a friendly one.

She stood there, smiling at him. Appreciating the nice gesture of coming to help her. Not a lot of people do that.

“So, you live next door? At... that house?” Brianna said as she pointed at his place. The house where she was sure he came from.

Matt was looking at her, quietly. Part of it was because she was tall, which amazed him, but that was not just it. She was gorgeous!

Her eyes, so big, so pretty. Her smile, with her thick lips. And the delicate features of her face. So feminine. Her hair was long, he couldn´t quite tell the color since it was kind of dark, but it might be of a shade of brown. A pretty shade…

He was too overwhelmed by her face to notice the rest of her. Sure, he wasn´t leering at her, he had a girlfriend, he can´t stare at other people with lusty eyes. However, making eye contact with her, looking at her angel-like face, he was dumbfounded.

“Yeah… I live next door…” he repeated.

He was so clumsy when talking that she giggled. And he thought it was such a pretty laugh.

“So, Matt. I don´t want to, like, abuse of your kindness but, do you mind… helping me here? I know it´s so rude, we just met and I´m already asking you a favor, haha. But I still have a few boxes to carry in so…” she started. She barely met him and she´s already putting him to work, she felt silly.

“Sure! I´ll help you out.” He had no idea what to say, and couldn´t really find a good enough excuse to get back to his house. It was easier this way.

He picked the box and followed her in. As she walked, he couldn´t help but to notice she was really tall. And, he also realized she had an outstanding body.

His eyes betrayed him and, just for a second, he found himself staring at her legs. Her long, thick legs. Shapely, sexy, long legs.

Brianna was wearing a pair of stretchy shorts, tight over the sensuous flesh of her butt. He could tell it was a nice, firm butt. Bouncing just a little as she took a step after another. This wasn´t very friendly of him. He met her just a minute ago and now he was leering at her?

He couldn´t help it, his eyes had a mind of their own, it seems. And she was so sexy that, well, he couldn´t believe what he was seeing. She was a muse!

“Just put the boxes where you can, there´s no big deal about it.” She said, putting her box down and turning at him.

Now that they were inside her house, he could see her clearly. And as she turned, he had a better view of her front. Her boobs were huge!

Big, perky breasts. And she was wearing a tank-top? A tank-top and tiny shorts? With a body like hers? She´s obviously teasing him on purpose.

He didn´t stare at her directly, it would be so obvious. But he could see, with his peripherical vision, that her boobs bounced as she turned rapidly. She was so voluptuous.

A thin waist, thick legs, a nice butt and big boobs? She´s got it all! A pretty face, pretty eyes. And her towering height. Is she some sort of goddess? Has a goddess just moved in next door?

There were just a few boxes left, so things were over quite fast. Now, as both of them stand outside, she´s saying goodbye.

“Thank you for helping me out. I really appreciate the nice gesture.” She said.

Matt felt strange for looking up to her, literally craning his neck to look at her. He felt so… short. Dwarfed by this beauty.

“No problem, that´s, uhm, that´s what neighbors are for, right?” All he could think about was that she was so pretty, which made him feel bad. He´s got a girlfriend!

“You´re so sweet. If I can help you out with anything, just let me know, ok?” She said, giving him that pretty smile again.

After that, Brianna explained to him that she wasn´t moving in right now, well, she already bought the house, but she explained him that she´ll move in, officially, until next week. She still has a few things to do before she moves her whole life to this neighborhood.

Matt listened, but as he did, he had this odd feeling. Every time she talked, he smiled, for some reason. Was there something in her voice? Maybe he liked meeting someone new? He had no idea.

Then, she left. Leaving the house locked and heading back home, until she makes this place her new home.

Matt waved goodbye as she left. Wondering when will she come back. So eager to see her again? She´s not even gone and he misses her already? There was something wrong about the way he feels.

He got back to his place. And spent the rest of the late evening alone. Just wandering inside the house as he waited for Sally, his girlfriend, to come back. She was taking longer than he expected.

As he waited, he looked out the window. Directly at the house next door, the house that was now owned by Brianna. And then, an image of his new neighbor came to him.

Her eyes, those pretty eyes. There was something in her, something that had just captivated him. What was he thinking? Why was he feeling that way?

He knows this feeling, he´s had it before. Her beauty, it was just overwhelming to him. He know that this, what he´s feeling right now, that´s how you feel when you have a crush with somebody.

Love at first sight.

Matt was worried. Was he actually considering cheating on his girlfriend? He´s been a good man, loyal, faithful, is he going to throw it all away?

But soon enough, as he was looking out the window. As he was looking out at the darkness of the night. Looking up at the sky, setting his eyes on the moon on this clear, stary sky, he wondered. He stopped for a moment and thought:

“Is… is Brianna the sign?” Was she a sign sent by a major force?

He asked for a sign, and now, Brianna showed up. She was so pretty. But looks are just one thing.

Something he´s not totally convinced about, it´s her height. She´s tall! Really tall! He stands at 5´10”, he knows he´s not amongst the tallest men there are. A woman standing at 6´ would be tall to him, even a woman who stands at 5´11”, but Brianna was TALL!

He never really considered dating taller women. Mostly because they are always interested on taller men. A man tall enough to allow them to wear heels.

Biranna must be interested on some guy amongst the seven-foot range. If she´s not already with a  guy like that.

Now, this brings another question to his mind, was she single? And this brings another complaint to him.

“Why do you care if she´s single! You´re not!” He said to himself.

Matt couldn´t be doing this. He couldn´t do this to Sally! She´s been there all the time!

He was kind of tormented by these thoughts. Sally´s such a gorgeous woman. Already out of his league. He can´t just do this to her.

He pulled out his phone from his pocket and looked at their pictures together. Smiling, sharing. Laughing.

Going on vacations together, dinner with family, friends. The beach, the mall, the movies, anywhere was fine as long as they were together.

But the more he looks at these pictures, the more he realizes things are changing.

They went out on every chance they had. And they took a picture on every one of their dates. Even if they didn´t call them dates at first.

He could see pictures of them, together, smiling in the most random of places. The store, a parking lot. A sidewalk. They seemed very happy, such a lovely couple.

His arm around her, a kiss on the cheek, sharing, spending time with one another. That was just enough back then.

And those pictures were taken a few days from the other. Not even a week between one another. But as he looks at more pictures, he realizes things were changing.

The pictures were at different places, more formal ones for a couple. At first, the movies, the mall, dinner. And those were about a week apart from each other.

They officially became a couple. There were more pictures with their friends, family. Their families met. They were officially a couple, and things were better. Until they were not…

A week apart, then two, three, then they had a picture together every month. Twice a month. Smiling, they were a happy couple, not faking the pictures just to have a fake memory saved. However, as time went on, he realized things were not the same as they used to.

Being with one another was enough, but then, it just… wasn´t. He still loves her company, and things are fine between them. No fighting, no arguing, nothing like that, however… why are things so different?

Right now, she´s not with him, they are not spending the night with each other, holding the other with love. When was it the last time they actually did?

Now, Sally was out, having fun with her friends, which was fine. He didn´t have a problem with that. But a part of him, deep inside, feels like he´s being forgotten.

He used to invite him, they had dates as couples. But the last time it happened, it wasn´t even this year.

And then, he checked on the date of their last picture together. They were at the beach, on their anniversary, and that was almost a year ago.

A kiss, she was kissing his check, with love. It was a sweet kiss, he can remember. But things were not the same.

He remembers that day, she spent quite some time at the phone. In fact, when they are together, she spends much time on her phone. They don´t really talk like they used to. Maybe, is it because they already know each other? There was no spark made by the mystery of not knowing each other?

They used to talk for hours, now, it seems it takes them hours to talk with each other. Things are changing, and not for good.

But Matt will try! He´ll do his best to make things work! To bring back the fire of love between each other. To turn back the torch. To recover what seems to be lost. But in the end, it´s not lost, it´s still there, love´s still there.

He won´t let them both become that couple that barely talks with each other. No, he´ll make a change, and the change will be now!

“You´re going away for a week?!” Matt asked.

“I know it´s a lot of time. But I have no choice, the company needs me to take this trip, they made a team to go and work at the main facilities for a while, to study and learn of new ways to make our place better. There´ll be conferences and stuff like that…” Sally was going out.

He didn´t spend more than two days trying to work things up when she came back with the news.

Matt wanted to get closer, and now she was going away? This ruins his plans!

But he shouldn´t be worried, she´s not going forever. He´ll just have to wait for her to come back to continue with his plan.

Things were fine, at least these last two days. He did his best to be a sweet boyfriend. Kind, attentive, and he had a lot of plans.

Breakfast in bed, dinner out, movies, going to the beach. He had made a few plans, most were in order to remember their first days as a couple. To visit those places they went to back then, and bring back some memories.

But that was not going to happen…

This was so unexpected. And, well, if this wasn´t a business trip, he would´ve thought she just made plans without taking him in mind. This has been something she´s been doing a lot, lately.

It´s fine, she´s got her own life, they are not a toxic couple. Not the type of couple where the other should know, in advance, where the other will be, or where they are. Still, her heads-ups are not quite… nice.

She just comes out of nowhere and tells him she´ll be gone for a while. Which is cool, but sometimes she doesn´t even tell him where she´s going. It makes him feel as if she had a life on her own where he´s not welcomed.

As if she didn´t care to share that with him. And that makes him feel like an outsider. Not her boyfriend, just a random dude she shares the house with.

Things just don´t feel as lovely as they used to. And, sometimes, he´s not completely sure it´s his fault things are like this.

Time flew by, and before he knew it, Sally was about to leave.

“I´ll have a busy day tomorrow,” she started as she packed all her stuff. “I need to be at the airport super early. I think I´ll have a nap on the plane. Then, as soon as we arrive, we´ll need to go get something to eat, else, we won´t eat until dinner! We need to check-in at the hotel right after that, and then…” Sally was talking about her busy schedule for tomorrow.

She wasn´t on vacations, that was clear. As she spoke, all Matt could think of was that she´ll be gone. Gone for a while. How will it be to be alone for a week? He´s never really thought about it. A whole week alone? What will he do?

He was trying to connect with her, to bring back the passion to their relationship. And, speaking of passion…

They were in bed much earlier than usual that night. Why both? Well, he´s going to drive her to the airport. It was 10:00 pm when they were both laying in bed, all lights out.

He had no time left before she left, and that gave him an idea. Both are in bed, he wants to show her how passionate she is, so, what else could he do?

Matt rolled over and started kissing her shoulder. How about a quick love session before she leaves? He´ll be as passionate as he can. To save their relationship, of course…

“Matt, what are you doing?” she asked.

“Well, I´m just trying to do my best with the little time I have left with you.” He said as he continued with the foreplay.

“You´re sweet, but I really need to sleep. I need to wake up in, like, five hours. Shower, get dressed, on my make-up. And I need to speed-up that because we need to get out of here by 4:30, to make it to the airport by 5:30.” Schedules, he wasn´t aware how much he hates schedules. It certainly interferes with his love life right now.

“But honey, you´ll be gone for so long,” he started. “Let´s have some fun tonight, just to have something to remember while we´re away.”

“Sorry, dear. But we´re going to have to postpone this until I come back. I promise, when I´m back, we´ll do anything you want. But not tonight.” He had no chances for tonight.

What a shame.

He wasn´t lucky that night. And he wasn´t trying because he was horny or anything. His plans of bringing romance back to his relationship were close to… none.

His main question is, why has she turned so dry? Their relationship´s lacking love right now. And he can´t try anything when he clearly has no chance to do so.

It´s weird but, whenever he tries to make a move, she seems to push him away. Sad, yes, a reason for him to get mad? Not that much.

When she´s back, he´ll have plenty of time. The thing is, what will happen while she´s gone?

Suddenly, as he was sleeping, well, in that phase when your eyes are closed and your mind´s drifting into different things, unconsciously, a thought came to his mind.

Sally was already sleeping next to him, and he was in the process of falling totally asleep. But as random thoughts came to his mind, something in particular came to him.

She´ll be gone tomorrow, on Monday. But, wasn´t this the same week when their neighbor will move in? That woman, Brianna, she said she´ll move here on this next week. And that next week was tomorrow!

What are the chances that she moves in at the beginning of the week? She didn´t necessarily have to move in immediately on Monday. She could do it on Tuesday, Wednesday, or any other day. Even on Sunday! She had all seven days of the week to do so. What were the odds that she´ll move in tomorrow?

As that thought came to him, a mental picture of Biranna came to him. But this time, she was sexy! Posing, she turned at him and blew a kiss at him, and then, she winked. She was so hot at the time, and so inviting.

That thought creeped him and he immediately woke up. That wasn´t supposed to happen!
