dennis and dee got addicted to crack lol which is basically just coke but more concentrated. in the US coke tends to be more expensive, popular among more wealthy people and the sentencing was much less severe. crack is cheaper, used by poor desperate people, a lot of whom are black, so of course they got way more prison time. recently they've been making these laws more equal. there's a whole rabbit hole you can go down of CIA involvement distributing crack in US inner cities in the 80s haha

there's this thing in the US called "civil forfeiture" where police can literally just take your money or property without proving you broke any laws, they can just suspect you. obviously this is exploited and a lot of innocent people have been robbed this way. apparently to get your shit back you have to prove you're innocent which is totally upside down. lots of criminals become policemen here. in Los Angeles there's around 18 gangs IN the sheriffs department!

Oh wow yeah that sounds pretty frightening... Tbh I don't know if we have similar laws here in The Netherlands. Me personally I just try my best to prepare myself for any kind of wild card situation, can't go wrong with that haha

Yeah I think people in Europe tend to be more mellow. But I can also understand in some situations cops are more on edge due to gun ownership being much more common there vs here.
