Trot seems to be a more popular genre in Korea than kpop, tbh lmao. I lived there until last year and my elementary-aged students can tell me more about trot artists and trot songs than they could about kpop idols and kpop songs (could be because of where I lived, though but I lived in one of the larger cities...) lol. Kpop is still popular but trot and other genres seem to be preferred overall.

I do wonder why kpop groups don't try to do trot songs. Ever since I checked LOONA's love battery performance at immortal songs, I fell in love with the genre especially with how majestic the performance was. It felt like I was watching a festival or a celebration.

So she's part of YG through YGX but I guess she choreographs as a freelancer for other artists just like any other leading dance choreographers in K-Pop. I think it's pretty common that they do choreos for multiple groups and companies.

I really recommend Hyeri's drama Reply 1988 if you want to see more content from her. The role she plays was made for her and became super iconic, they even talked about it in the first episode of HyeMiLeeYeChaePa how she resembles her character in the drama a lot.

Ohhh I did hear great things about that show! I think the writers are the same ones who did Hospital Playlist which is probably my fav kdrama. I will see if I have time to do it after I finish Hotel Del Luna but I also wanted to start Player S1 because Jang Gyuri is one of the main leads of S2. We will see how it goes ^^
