Tablet and Traditional Trussing (Patreon)

The attached images depict consensual roleplay scenarios starring my original characters.
I'm back from the convention that I mentioned in my previous post, and did indeed manage to find a couple of free hours in the evenings to do some doodling!
Short version: Nothing super ambitious, just a bunch of simple Aers and a Wossy. Half drawn on a tablet with a squishy capacitive stylus, half drawn in a tiny sketchpad with pencils and inks. Please enjoy!
Long version:
The first batch of pictures were drawn using Autodesk Sketchbook on a 7" Asus Memo Pad 7 tablet. I bought it almost a decade ago for reading comics, but never really considered it as a drawing tool, especially since I'd only ever seen these lame styluses with a squishy rubber capacitive tip/nib that's not really much better than just using your finger...
But then I found a USB rechargable *actual* stylus thingie on Amazon with a much smaller, plastic nib, and was excited to try it out!
...Aaaaand it didn't work. Well, it worked for like, a minute, but then just wouldn't hold any charge. Sooo, I ended up having to use the imprecise squishy capacitive 'eraser tip' end anyway - go figure! Ah, well. Anyway, for the pics themselves, if you've been following me for.. well, more than 10 minutes, you'll know that when my head is empty and I'm just trying to get something, anything, onto the page, I default to "Aeria tied up in sleepwear or lingerie". Hey, I like what I like, and I'll keep making it until you like it as much as I do, too! ;) The first pic is all on a single layer, but I also did a couple of attempts at working in my more usual style with rough guidelines and then a separate layer for inks. Overall it was pretty fun and I was impressed at the versatility of the app, but working with the busted stylus made things a bit frustrating too.
So the next night, I just went back to basics with pencil and inks. Still no big fancy concepts or compositions - I think I was reluctant to try anything particularly ambitious when I knew I was working with limited time, and that the end result would be confined to my little A6 (10x15cm / 4x6in) sketchpad, plus I don't have a scanner so had to just take photos. So we've got a Wossy on a leash, plus a few more pretty Aers of varying moods.
I have some friends who draw on iPads or Surface Pro tablets, and I can definitely see the appeal. With some more screen/canvas real estate, a working stylus, and a more robust program like Clip Studio mobile-version (and maybe a usb keyboard), I could get pretty close to desktop functionality. But since I'm a hermit for 99% of the year anyway, that kind of investment would be lost on me and probably just end up being used as an excuse to stay in bed or lounge on the couch when I should be up and active. :p

Phew! Quite the ramble. Now it's time to get back to work!
