241_chunie_elephant_bath is only 3.00 dpi. Are you doing that on purpose just because I asked you to fix some old images? 'Cmon.

Leo

I swear I see you on every artist's Patreon just giving them shit. Can you be a more stereotypical entitled furry?

Sniffeh

Excuse me if I expect an artist to be honest and provide what people are paying them for. And what is this "every artist's Patreon" shit? I wish I could afford to be on every furry artist's Patreon.

Quentin Wolf

Hey Sniffeh, load it up in Photoshop, Go Image > Resize, Uncheck "Resample" and change the resolution to 96 Pixels/Inch. Done. DPI doesn't affect the image quality/resolution, since Chunie is already amazing and providing all their work at 3000px wide, so quit being so critical. DPI is only important if you are physically printing in massive sizes (think poster size) to ensure things are scaled correctly, otherwise the resolution is all that's important. DPI = Dots Per Inch, so if you have a 3000 pixel wide image, and it's at 96 DPI, when you print it, 96 DPI on a 3000 px image = 31 inches wide. Same goes for 300dpi, would mean you can print it at 10 inches wide. Please understand and learn what you are asking before making a big deal over nothing. Go and google "What is dpi and how does it work" and read the 1st/2nd article on the site snapshop.cam

Thank you for taking the time to explain this to me instead of attacking me or insulting me. Unfortunately, I do not own Photoshop. Is there a free program I can do this with?

Quentin Wolf

Absolutely! There are 2 completely free Photoshop equivalents available. Open up google and search for "paint dot net" (Windows Only) or "Gimp" (GNU Image Manipulation Program, Available for Windows, OSX, and Linux) They both have their own sets of features and different interfaces, but both are very capable programs that should allow you to adjust the DPI if you absolutely need to, but otherwise it'll give you something to be able to do a bit more with images vs what MS Paint can do. :)

Sniffeh

I downloaded Gimp. It works pretty good. Thank you.
