Again, not supporting Owen here but when he says "Be my person", I really do feel the emotion in that line. Cristina does prioritise Mer as her person, because she is her best friend and because (I agree) Owen and her aren't right for each other. Hats off to the actors for making domestic drama still an interesting part of the show in all the medicine! :)

When I think about all that our thumbs actually do, I think I would be "yes" take the second toe. If it's worked in others, I'm willing to do it. The big toe is used for balance, so that shouldn't be such a problem with the second one. I really kinda think the thumb makes the difference in whether a hand is for use or show. I wants the thumb, even if it is a toe.

I really love the stuff with Cristina and Owen because it was the first time I got to see a character express that some people don't want kids and that's okay. I struggled a long time with the thought I had too as a woman and Cristina Yang was a big part in my journey to figure out it was fine for me to say no. So those scenes mean a lot to me. Though I will say I have one bone to pick with Cristina. She did wait way too long to tell him she didn't want kids and never sat him down and actually explained. She just snaps at him and expects him to get it. That's fine for pretty much everyone, but if you get married to someone and tie your life to theirs, make it clear. I won't even considering dating someone until I've told them my no kids policy. He also could have made it clear from the start kids were a deal breaker for him as well. Those two have always had terrible communication.

Owen really annoys me, I can’t stand him tbh and really wanted Cristina to just drop him after that comment at the party. I feel like he’s completely selfish and doesn’t get there isn’t a compromise on a baby.

Honestly, I think Christina and Owen’s relationship is one of the first depictions of a real relationship so to speak. A lot of the other relationships seem to be whimsical and fantastical. Sometimes love is hard. Both parties have things that they need to work on and it’s not always one person‘s fault over the other. The proof that they love each other is in the fact that they are trying to work through their differences because that’s what you do when you’re married.
