I loved this movie, easily better than Barbie imo (no shade).  And yes, I cried... still can't decide on my favorite character though

The original book and all the other movie adaptations are in typical chronological order. The scene where Jo is laying out all the pages on the floor is a nod to Greta's process putting together the screenplay, switching around scenes and moments to create her unique timeline. One of the best decisions she made was introducing Jo/Friedrich and Amy/Laurie in their respective scenes right at the beginning of the film. Greta pointed out in an interview that in many traditional romcoms, the couple you see together first is the one you expect to root for. With the novel and other versions of Little Women, a lot of people have trouble accepting Amy and Laurie in love because it seems to come out of nowhere late in the story. Oh and yeah, the final scenes of Jo negotiating with the publisher and printing her book are entirely original to this film, a way for Greta to add in a twist that satisfied Alcott's real experience. The umbrella scene and the happily ever after at the school are true to the novel.

In my opinion the 90s version is the superior version! One day maybe you can react to that one too!

Since everybody is expressing their love for the 90s version I will be the one to say that I love this one way more. It only happened to me twice when I loved modern adaptation better: Little Women and Emma.
