The fashion should be a little older than 2005ish - the books span from 1991 to 1998. Voldemort first "died" in 1981. Obviously you don't see much of that with the amount of time spent in the wizarding world.

Your analyzing skills are almost spot on throughout these movies! Not sure if you've been told or found out since you've seen the movies, but Bellatrix did something a lot worse than torture and kill Neville's parents. She tortured them into insanity. They're still alive in a wizard hospital wing, but they don't know their son or even themselves. The book's description of what happened was hard to read with no emotion
