🛡️🧟💥 Plague Knights, once noble paladins, fell from grace, their oaths broken and hearts corrupted. They turned to dark deities, seeking power in forbidden arts. The Plague Knight Armor, a symbol of their fall, was forged in dark rituals. This cursed armor is said to be created in places where death and despair have left a deep mark, such as ancient battlefields or forgotten tombs plagued by disease.

The first Plague Knight was a once-honored warrior who, in his quest for vengeance, succumbed to the temptations of necromancy. He crafted the armor as a vessel for his newfound powers, binding his soul to it. Each Plague Knight since has added their own malice to the armor, making it stronger and more malevolent.

The Plague Knights are feared across lands for their ability to spread disease and death. They are often shunned even by other dark orders due to their extreme and destructive nature. Rumors whisper of a hidden enclave where these knights gather, plotting to expand their dominion of decay.

The armor, a beacon of their twisted path, is both a weapon and a curse, granting great power but at the cost of the wearer's humanity. Those who don the armor are said to be forever changed, their fate intertwined with the dark legacy of the Plague Knights. 🛡️🧟💥

Plague Knight Armor

Armor (plate), legendary (requires attunement by an oathbreaker paladin)

This plate armor is wrought from a cursed alloy, its blackened plates adorned with veins that glow dimly with a virulent green. It is designed to instill fear and to channel the wielder's malevolent will.

While wearing this armor, you have a +3 bonus to AC. You also gain immunity to both poison damage and the poisoned condition.

Aura of Pestilence. The armor emits a malevolent aura in a 10-foot radius. Any creature that dies within this aura will rise at the start of your next turn as a plague zombie destined to explode upon impact. You can use your reaction to propel each zombie raised this way in a straight line toward a target up to 20 feet away. If you do not use your reaction, the zombies shamble in a random direction as determined by the GM. When a zombie collides with a small or larger object or creature, or when it reaches the end of its movement, it explodes. The blast inflicts 2d6 necrotic damage and 2d6 poison damage to all creatures within 5 feet of the explosion. You are immune to damage from these explosions.

Curse. Upon your death while wearing this armor, your soul is ensnared by the armor, transforming you into a lich under the GM's control. The armor becomes your phylactery. Only by a casting of a wish spell followed by true resurrection can you be restored to your former self and regain control over your character.
