👤👁️💍 The Whorl of the Warlock, a ring of curious design and enchantment, was conceived by a coven of arcane scholars known as the Obsidian Eye. These warlocks, fixated on the augmentation of their eldritch sight, imbued these rings with the power to tap into the Weave’s deeper currents.

Each ring, set with eye-like gems, is a tool for the warlock who seeks to refine their craft, allowing them to adapt to the myriad challenges they face. The central gem, a swirling vortex of magical energy, is said to contain a sliver of the coven’s collective consciousness, guiding its wearer in the subtle art of invocation.

However, the creation of such rings was not without its risks. The scholars found that the more they peered into the abyss for wisdom, the more the abyss peered into them, leaving a trace of its enigmatic influence. Wearers of the ring often report an unsettling sensation of being observed, a small price to pay, some argue, for the boons the ring bestows. 👤👁️💍

Whorl of the Warlock

Ring, rare (requires attunement by a warlock)

This enigmatic ring is wrought with intertwining silver that holds a multitude of eye-like gems, each fixed in a silent watch. At the center, a prominent gem stares outward, its core alive with a mesmerizing light that mimics the vigilant gaze of a sentinel.

While wearing this ring, a warlock gains access to one additional Eldritch Invocation of their choice. This invocation does not count against their number of invocations known.

Upon completing a long rest, the wearer of Whorl of the Warlock can choose to replace the additional Eldritch Invocation granted by the ring with another invocation for which they qualify.

Curse. The eyes set within the Whorl of the Warlock are not merely decorative; they are conduits for a sentient, otherworldly presence that seeks to observe our reality.

When a warlock attunes to the ring, they find themselves feeling watched, even in solitude. In their dreams, they traverse a hall of eyes, each whispering secrets in ancient tongues or gazing with silent judgment.

Each time the wearer swaps an Eldritch Invocation, there is a chance that the abyss gazes back into them, leaving a fragment of its essence. The warlock begins to suffer from bouts of paranoia, believing they are constantly being surveilled by unseen watchers.

This curse can manifest in a compulsion to cover mirrors, avoid eye contact, or an irrational fear of being alone. The only respite comes when the ring is removed, but the curse ensures the ring cannot be discarded by ordinary means—it returns to the warlock's finger as if by its own volition, continuing its silent, ceaseless vigil.
