The town needs brave souls to uncover the secrets of the Grail of Blood and save Ravensbrook from its haunting grip. Grail of Blood

Wondrous item, rare

It is an ornate golden chalice engraved with intricate patterns and encrusted with precious gemstones.

Once per day, when a creature pours any liquid into this ornate golden vessel, the liquid magically transforms into a thick, red substance resembling blood.

When a creature drinks from the chalice, they receive a +2 bonus to Strength-based attack rolls and damage rolls and gain temporary hit points equal to their level. Both effects endure for the next hour.

Cursed. The first time a creature drinks its contents, they are ensnared by a hidden curse, the presence of which eludes them unless revealed by a remove curse spell or similar magic. From that initial drink, the imbiber is overwhelmed by an insatiable thirst for blood. This overpowering compulsion to drink the blood of living creatures remains for 24 hours. Should the cursed individual manage to resist this dark thirst, they suffer one level of exhaustion.

With each subsequent drink from the chalice, the duration of their bloodlust lengthens by 24 hours, reaching a maximum of 7 days. During this grim period, it's not uncommon for the cursed individual's eyes to flash a sinister shade of red, especially when the urge becomes almost unbearable.

Only a remove curse spell or magic of a similar potency can dispel the chalice's curse.
