🧥🔐🗝️ Here, etched in the aged stone, I've uncovered the legends of the Raiment of the Locking Legends and the keys that accompany it. Allow me to transcribe the lore:

Raiment of the Locking Legends: These age-old inscriptions speak of a robe woven by the celestial seamstress Lyria, who threaded the very stories of old into its fabric. The robe was said to have six locks, each representing an ancient legend waiting to be unveiled. Those who wore the robe were believed to gain the ability to tap into the legacies of forgotten times, but only if they possessed the keys to unlock its tales.

Key of the Monkey King: A bronze key, ornately detailed with the face of a monkey, represents the fabled Monkey King. The heroglyphs recount the tales of a mischievous and cunning sovereign, who ruled over a kingdom hidden within mountain mists. His agility and dexterity were unmatched, and it was said that when his essence was invoked through the key, the wearer could harness his swiftness.

Key of the Sea Serpent: This key embodies the power of the majestic Sea Serpent, Orythia. Orythia, the guardian of the oceanic abysses, controlled the waters with but a flick of her tail. The inscriptions depict her as a benevolent force, bestowing her aquatic dominion and magic upon the key's possessor.

Key of Hidden Secrets: Most intriguing is the lore surrounding the Key of Hidden Secrets. This key, different from the others, holds a lock within itself. The ancients believed that it was the gateway to merging powers, representing the essence of unity and combination. Its use allowed the bearers of the other keys to reach a state of combined potential, drawing out the hidden strengths of both keys simultaneously.

And as for Ca... This part is fragmented, but from what I can discern, Ca was a primeval deity, an embodiment of pure elemental fury. It is said that Ca was neither benevolent nor malevolent, but rather a force of nature, representing the raw power of the world. The deity had dominion over both the beasts of the land and the tempests of the sky. When invoked, the Avatar of Ca was a manifestation of this dual essence, a being that could harness both the agility of the Monkey King and the magical prowess of the Sea Serpent.

This discovery is profound! It bridges the gaps between legends and gives us a clearer understanding of the tales our ancestors believed in. 🧥🔐🗝️

Raiment of the

Locking Legends

Wondrous item, artifact (requires attunement)

Etched runic inscriptions, evoking tales of old, spiral across its surface. The sleeves, torso, and hem each have special keyholes, designed to accept legendary keys.

The Raiment is divided into three main components, each awaiting the touch of a legendary key:

  • Sleeves - These keyholes await the touch of the Key of the Monkey King. Contains 2 charges.
  • Torso - These keyholes are designed for the Key of the Sea Serpent. Contains 2 charges.
  • Hem - These keyholes seek the unlocking power of the Key of Hidden Secrets. Contains 2 charges.

When a key is inserted and turned, it expends a charge to activate a specific latent power of the robe. If a total of two charges, regardless of whether they come from the same keyhole or different ones, are expended, the robe goes dormant. After 6 dawns, the dormant robe becomes active again, and both charges are restored.

Key of the Monkey King

Wondrous item, legendary

Fashioned from aged bronze, this key has acquired a patina that gives it a depth and richness. Its handle is exquisitely crafted in the form of a monkey's head.

When this key is used to unlock a set of locks on the Raiment of the Locking Legends, the wearer becomes suffused with the essence of the Monkey King. For the next hour, the wearer's Dexterity score changes to 26; however, the item has no effect if the wearer's Dexterity without the key's influence is equal to or greater than 26.

In addition, the wearer receives a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls when using a quarterstaff and can swiftly make three weapon attacks with it as a bonus action on their turn.

The agility of the Monkey King also grants the wearer a climbing speed equal to their movement speed and the ability to jump twice as high as normal.

Key of the Sea Serpent

Wondrous item, legendary

Fashioned from aged bronze, this key has acquired a patina that gives it a depth and richness. This key has a handle designed to resemble a majestic sea serpent. When light touches it, the key seems to pulse with an inner vitality.

Upon using this key to unlock a set of locks on the Raiment of the Locking Legends, the wearer gains remarkable abilities tied to the ocean's might. For a duration of one hour:

The wearer can cast the following spells without requiring material components or concentration: control water, tidal wave, water breathing, water walk, maelstrom, watery sphere, and tsunami. The spell save DC is 17, and any spell attacks use a +9 bonus to hit. However, only one spell effect granted by the key can be active at a time.

The wearer also gains the ability to breathe underwater and possesses a swimming speed equal to twice their regular movement speed.

Key of Hidden Secrets

Wondrous item, artifact

This key, a masterwork of unknown origin, gleams with a brilliance that captures the eye and refuses to let go. Its most peculiar feature, a keyhole nestled at its center, suggests deeper mysteries.

When the Key of Hidden Secrets unlocks a set of locks on the Raiment of the Locking Legends, the wearer gains the ability to comprehend any spoken or written language, as if under the effects of the comprehend languages and tongues spells, for one hour. For the same duration, the wearer gains truesight up to 10 feet, advantage on Insight and Perception checks, and can cast the legend lore spell once without expending a spell slot or requiring material components.

Avatar of Ca. When the Key of the Monkey King and the Key of the Sea Serpent are merged to unlock the Key of Hidden Secrets, and this unified key is then used on the Raiment of the Locking Legends, the wearer undergoes a momentous metamorphosis. For 1 hour, the wearer is transformed into the Avatar of Ca, an ancient embodiment of a feral deity.

While transformed, the wearer's Dexterity and Constitution scores become 30. They can cast the storm of vengeance spell once, without requiring concentration, and they are immune to its effects (spell save DC 20). For the spell's duration, their melee attacks and spells deal an additional 2d6 acid and 2d6 cold damage. The wearer gains a flying speed (hover) equal to twice their walking speed. They also gain 50 temporary hit points that last for the transformation's duration.

If a creature within 30 feet of the Avatar of Ca is reduced to 0 hit points by the effects of the storm of vengeance, it is instantly slain without a saving throw. Additionally, if the Avatar of Ca is wielding a quarterstaff at the time of such a death, the weapon gains a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls, up to a maximum of +5, for the remainder of the transformation's duration. Each soul claimed by the weapon during this state is commemorated on its shaft by a distinctive burnt imprint.

Aftermath of the Avatar of Ca. Upon the cessation of the Avatar of Ca transformation, the wielder faces significant repercussions. They immediately gain two levels of exhaustion, their body rebelling against the sheer might it just channeled. For the next 24 hours, the residual memories of the beast deity cloud their mind, imposing disadvantage on all Wisdom and Intelligence checks. Furthermore, the souls captured by the quarterstaff during their time as the Avatar cry out, assaulting the wielder's senses. Each time they draw the weapon, they must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC 17) or become frightened for 1 minute, though a successful save at the end of their subsequent turns ends this condition.
