🔥🌌🍃 Deep in the heart of the Eldralore Forest, where trees reached out to touch the sky and rivers sang tales of old, stood the city of Aelinthalas. Built amongst towering trees, with bridges made of interwoven branches and homes nestled in treetops, this place was the heartland of the Aelinfyri Elves.

Distinct from other Elven clans, the Aelinfyri had companions that were the envy of all: the Pyraffons. Born from a union of fire and flight, the first Pyraffon's arrival in Aelinthalas marked the beginning of an age-old alliance. This wasn’t just a bond of rider and mount, but of trust, respect, and shared destiny.

Each turn of the season, a grand ceremony marked the rite of passage for young elves ready to bond with a Pyraffon. Amidst music, dance, and the warmth of community, an Elf and a Pyraffon would meet, their futures intertwined from that moment forth.

Central to their rites was the Aelinfyre Collection, a set of armor steeped in history. Crafted from the finest metals and woods of Eldralore, it represented the strength and unity of the Aelinfyri. To wear it was to bear the weight of generations, the hopes of a people, and the trust of a Pyraffon.

But every light casts a shadow, and murmurs spoke of times when the bond between the Aelinfyri and the Pyraffons would face trials. Those are tales for another chapter, in the ever-turning pages of Aelinthalas's history. 🔥🌌🍃

Barding of Aelinfyre Flame

Wondrous item (barding plate for a Pyraffon), rare (requires attunement)

The barding's alloy seems to capture the dichotomy of a serene elven lake and the passionate blaze of a Pyraffon's fire, dancing between cool moonlit hues and warm fiery glows.

Barding plate grants an additional +2 bonus to the Pyraffon's AC.

Aelinfyre’s Ember. While the barding is donned, the Pyraffon's Fiery Aura is intensified. Its aura now deals an additional 5 (1d10) fire damage (totaling 11 (2d10) fire damage) to any creature within 5 feet of it at the start of its turn.

Aelinfyre Flaming Helmet

Wondrous item (helmet), very rare (requires attunement)

This exquisite helmet, masterfully forged with elven craftsmanship, boasts an ethereal plume of fire that dances gracefully atop it. The metal is adorned with intricate patterns reminiscent of the elven forests. When worn, the wearer's eyes seem to ignite with a fiery determination.

While attuned to and wearing the helmet, the wearer has resistance to fire damage.

Blazing Plume. The helmet's fiery plume is not just for show. As an action, the wearer can channel the fire from the plume to release a flamethrower-like jet of flame. This flame extends in a line that is 5 feet wide and 10 feet long in the opposite direction the wearer is facing. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 15), taking 4d10 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. After using this property, it can't be used again until the next dawn.

Aelinfyre Lancebearer Plate

Wondrous item (helmet), very rare (requires attunement)

Elegantly crafted with elven artistry, this plate armor is adorned with etchings of valiant elven knights amidst aelinfyre flames.

While wearing this armor, you gain +1 bonus to AC, gain proficiency in lances if you don't already have it and despite being plate armor, its unique design ensures you do not gain disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks while wearing it. Additionally, you can wield a lance with one hand when you aren't mounted, and you do not have disadvantage when you use a lance to attack a target within 5 feet of you.

Phoenix Rebirth. If you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can choose to drop to 1 hit point instead and regain 4d8 hit points at the subsequent turn. Once this property is used, it cannot be used again until you finish a long rest.

area for the first time on its turn must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 5 (1d10) fire damage. Creatures that the Pyraffon trusts automatically succeed on this saving throw.

Innate Spellcasting. The Pyraffon's innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 13). It can innately cast the following spell, requiring no material components:

  • 1/day: fire shield

Actions

Multiattack. The Pyraffon makes two attacks: one with its beak and one with its hooves.

Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) piercing damage.

Rider's Flameguard. When a creature is riding the Pyraffon, it can use its action to grant the rider a shield of flames. The rider gains resistance to fire damage and any creature that hits the rider with a melee attack takes 5 (1d10) fire damage until the Pyraffon's next turn.

3 Set Bonus

When either the rider or the Pyraffon scores a critical hit, the other is imbued with the fiery essence of the Aelinfyre set. On its next turn, the empowered creature gains advantage on melee attacks and deals an additional 1d10 fire damage on a successful hit. This effect lasts only for that turn.
