💎🎩💰 Greetings, fellow adventurers and lore-seekers! Are you ready for something that will make your wildest quests and adventures seem like mere children's tales?

They say in the dim-lit taverns and high halls of scholars that there was once a gnome unlike any other. Known by many names — the "King of Bling," the "Baron of Boundless Riches" — but most famously known as Glimmerbeard the Opulent.

Whispers circulate that Glimmerbeard was never seen without his signature, ever-changing array of azure headwear and an array of matching rings — one for every finger, and then some! His insatiable drive for riches led him on quests that defied imagination, from diving into the heart of active volcanoes to scaling the perilous peaks of the Spine.

Most compelling is the tale of the enigmatic coffer he carried — a lunchbox-sized chest that rattled with an inexplicable, endless jingling and clinking, as if holding the universe's desires within its metal walls.

Sadly, Glimmerbeard vanished without a trace, and some say he found a treasure so unimaginable that he decided to keep it and himself hidden forever. Others claim the gnome's boundless avarice finally consumed him, turning him into a cautionary tale for the ages. 💎🎩💰

Hat of Voracious Wealth

Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement)

This deep blue velvet wizard's hat stands tall. To many, it may seem like just an eccentric accessory, but its history is steeped in tales of those who fell prey to overwhelming greed.

Gem Production. While wearing this crown, the wearer can summon a gem worth 500 gold pieces from thin air with a bonus action. This ability can be used once per long rest.

Irreversible Curse of Avarice:

  • After producing 10 gems in total, the user must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or suffer a short-term madness effect. The wearer believes nothing has changed, perceiving themselves as unaffected by any detrimental effects.
  • After 20 gems, the DC increases to 15, and the user suffers from a long-term madness effect upon failing. Again, the wearer remains blissfully unaware of any changes in their behavior or perception.
  • After 50 gems, the DC becomes 18. Failing this saving throw will induce an indefinite madness. The wearer will steadfastly deny any alterations to their psyche, even in the face of undeniable evidence.
  • Upon producing a 100th gem, the user is transformed into a ghoul, forever yearning for things it can never possess. This transformation is irreversible. This transformation is irreversible, and the ghoul will remain convinced of its own well-being and normalcy.

Tenacious Attachment. The hat clings with an unnatural persistence to those it has ensnared. If a creature attempts to unattune from the Hat of Voracious Wealth, the item will magically appear within their possession within 24 hours. Upon seeing the hat again, the former wearer must make a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, they are charmed by the hat and regard it as the most precious item in existence, eager to wear it once more.

Ring of Covetous Secrets

Ring, legendary

This finely crafted silver ring is unassuming at first glance. However, as light hits it, subtle inscriptions emerge, detailing ancient pacts and oaths centered around desire. It feels cold to the touch, as if it saps away warmth, and by extension, one's restraint.

Endless Pockets. While wearing this ring, the wearer can effortlessly reach into their pockets, bags, or pouches and produce up to 1000 silver pieces once per day. The silver isn't conjured from thin air but rather taken from the nearest source, whether it's a vault, purse, or buried treasure. The original owner of the silver, if alive, will have a nagging feeling of loss but will not be able to pinpoint the reason.

Coffer of the Covetous Vault

Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement)

Crafted with a blend of silver and a mysterious brown metal, this elegant coffer beckons to those with desires for wealth. The echoing clinks of coins dropping, the distant gleam of treasures, and an otherworldly glow hint that this is no ordinary container.

Endless Treasury. The Coffer of the Covetous Vault functions as a bag of holding but is specifically tailored to hold currency. Gold, silver, and copper coins seem to vanish into its depths, with no discernible limit to its holding capacity. Retrieving a specific amount of currency requires a thought and an action.

Venture Within. Unlike other bags of holding, individuals can willingly enter the Coffer of the Covetous Vault. Once inside, they find themselves in a sprawling treasury filled with coins, gems, and other legendary treasures. There's breathable air, but it feels dense and is tinged with the scent of metal.

Curse of the Endless Labyrinth. The deeper one goes into the Coffer's interior, the more the nature of greed manifests itself.

  • For every 10 minutes spent within the Coffer, a creature must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be compelled to venture deeper, lured by the promise of even greater treasures.
  • After spending an hour inside, the DC increases to 18. On a failed save, the creature becomes convinced that an unimaginable treasure is just within reach.
  • After spending two hours, a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw must be made. On a failure, the creature is permanently lost within the treasury, transformed into a golden statue — forever a part of the Coffer's hoard.

3-Set Bonus: Lure of Limitless Riches

Once per day, as an action, the bearer can invoke the combined power of the set to find the location of a vast treasure, whether it's a dragon's hoard, a sunken ship full of gold, or a forgotten vault. This functions like the Locate Object spell but has a range of up to 100 miles and can specifically detect large concentrations of wealth.

However, the richer the target, the more perilous the journey. The path revealed might pass through treacherous terrain, guarded dungeons, or places cursed by ancient magic. While the treasures are real, the allure is both a blessing and a test of one's avarice.
