This week on Economic Update,  Prof. Richard D. Wolff gets into another automotive manufacturer caught cheating emissions tests, the reality of Americans’ value on labor unions, how the GOP corporate tax cuts are mainly boosting share prices, worsened inequality in the U.S. and the reality VS the fakery of the Trump/GOP trade war.

In the second half of the show, Prof. Wolff interviews Elizabeth Marciano, a West Va. teacher, about their historic and successful public school teacher strikes.

Elizabeth Marciano has participated in the West Virginia teacher and state service personnel statewide walkout of 2018.  She is is an elementary school teacher in Kanawha County, West Virginia and a member of the American Federation of Teachers.  

Elizabeth graduated Summa Cum Laude from Medaille College in Buffalo, NY. She has just completed her first year as a public school teacher. She has a beautiful family, with hopes to expand it by adding a couple of goats and some chickens. She loves  espresso more than she should, and she has developed a recent interest in constitutional law and educational policy.
