The version of February are ready and I'm exporting the images but I've heard that some prefer PNGs, I've tried and honestly I don't see the difference beside the file size (PNG is heavier), so I'll just do a poll

Can someone explain why many are preferring png? I don’t understand

OrcChamp

I don’t understand either. The usual works fine for me, but if there’s a substantial difference, I wanna know.

I don't understand, feels like it'll take up much room if already have lots of photos and vids

Abi Aikou

Yeah. Which I do. I support a lot of artists and have a lot of my own stuff too. It doesn’t seem to change quality at all so what’s the reasoning. 🤔

Gregg Ed

Color vibrancy and lossless compression iirc are the perks of png over jpeg

Daniel

To me, because jpegs can be opened on my phone and pngs can't, I prefer jpeg.

Abi Aikou

Oh wait for real?? I don’t even have a computer so I really hope we still get jpeg if that’s the case. This literally my first month on here cuz I just found this artist. That would be terrible luck if my first month I can’t even get the content 😹

PNG is lossless, so that’s preferable to me. Both iOS and Android can handle PNG so that shouldn’t be a problem for either. Of course Mac and Windows handle them both fine.

For the size your images are at, i have no problem with JPGs. If you're providing the transparency with PNGs, that would be a nice bonus, but generally, i prefer the smaller size of JPGs. If there's any compression at all, you dont notice it on such big images.

PNG all the way. Highest quality

So, I decided for JPEG because file size (PNG is the double heavier and very slow to export) and because aparently PNG cant be open on some devices (?), I am not sure about that but JPEG is just the safe option if that is the case.

PNG can be open anywhere, it's pretty much universal just like JPG/JPEG.

PNG please, png is lossless, or at least a 100 quality selection when exporting to JPG, by default if you save a jpg image in photoshop and select the highest quality (12) it will save it to a lower quality than 100, if you zoom in youll be able to see the JPG artifacts and the loss of quality compared to PNG.
