Instead of making all waterwheel vfx placeable as an object on their own, I focused on adding the Get Together waterwheel vfx to the concrete base today. This doesn't mean I won't be making versions of the waterwheel versions alone by the way.

The first thing I tried to do was adding rigs and slots to the concrete base object. Most of the debug objects don't have this option and without, I can't add the vfx of the waterwheel in between it as it needs a _FX_ slot for that.

So I tried making a clone of another Get Togeter non-debug object which already had the rigs and slots, but although it did work to switch meshes, there was a strange light issue in game which I couldn't fix. So then I tried adding new rigs and slots entries to the debug object by batch exporting and importing them. After a lot of trial and error I finally succeeded to add them and being able to edit them too! This made it possible to add the vfx slot and the vfx code itself by adding a new tuning. After testing in game it didn't worked though, while adding a small deco slot worked perfectly. So another problem that needed to be solved. After sometime I got that problem out of the way too! (Which made me very happy as I learned new things today!)

Then the following 'problem' arrised as the vfx did work in game but was 45° rotated so it went straight through the concrete base. As I've already rotated a lot of vfx, this wasn't that big of a deal in the end.

Easier, was to add the 4 small deco slots which I've used on the screenshot to place 4 pigeons on. I've also changed the footprint of the entire object, so Sims won't swim through the waterwheel when placed on water surfaces.

To do
Things I still need to do now for this particular object:
- Search for and add more water VFX (ripples/flow).
- Add custom catalog thumbnail (automatic thumbnail don't show vfx like the waterwheel).
- Make it to be placeable on all water surfaces.
- Placeable on terrain so a small stream can flow in between.
- Double check everything so I don't forget things.

Love the object but wondering can you make swatches for the concrete objects, like wood or bamboo?

I can't right now as the way it's mapped right now doesn't makes that possible, I've already tried. ;) But if I watch a few tutorials on how to make a texture map for it myself, then everything should be possible and I was already thinking about that myself too. But it will take some extra time I need to spend on watching video tutorials. Though it might will come in handy for other parts of this project too. :)
