Patreon Update (December, 2020) (Patreon)

Hello, sorry for the lateness of this post!

Here we are, at the end of 2020. I think it's safe to say that this year wasn't anything that we expected it would be, twelve months ago. 

Before I get to the update, I have a small ramble to get out of my fingers.

This year, I found myself struggling. There were issues with technology, my workspace, SPIDERS, my family, and my homelife, all of which affected my ability to create frequent content. There were times where I felt myself despairing for fear of disappointing everyone because of how long it takes me to finish an audio. 

--but, I was given so much wonderful support and encouragement from you. Even if it was hard, even if I was slower, you made it possible to keep going. 

I don't know if my gratitude for you comes across as much as I'd like it to when I tell you that you deserve a good morning, day, evening, or night, but I mean it. You deserve so much. I know we may only spend a small amount of time together, but I'm thankful to be a part of any day you let me ramble into your ears. 

As we approach the new year, I want you to know I will never forget that you were here with me in 2020. I feel like I am a stronger person now. Even if I'm not as fast as I'd like to be, I will continue to try and improve my work.

Thank you so much for believing in me, and supporting me. I am forever grateful.

So, now that that is out of the way, let's resume the regular monthly Patreon update!

Firstly, I have to apologise-- the audio for this month will most likely be late due to a mix of the holidays and a family emergency. Usually I wouldn't share the details, but I feel it's best to be transparent about what's occurring this month that's delaying me,

I am returning home over Christmas to help clear out the old family home. My father is an older fellow, and is unable to handle the work on his own. Not only this, but my sister is soon to become a single mother, and I am going to be there with her to provide moral support while she reveals the news to the rest of the family.

This, coupled with the current spike of COVID cases in the area, has affected my mental health somewhat, and negatively impacted my productivity.

While I have done my best to finish my part of an upcoming collaboration that I have really been looking forward to, I am afraid that I most likely will miss the December 24th deadline, and it will be released either at the end of December or beginning of January. I am incredibly sorry for the delay. I have already compiled the credits, even if the video is released next month, so if you are a $5+ patron your name is already prepped and ready to go at the end of the video.

I apologise again to end this year on such a frantic sounding note. I am hoping that I can help my family and then get back to work on audio quickly come January. 🙏

In ASMR streaming news, I've also begun streaming ASMR on Twitch on Fridays and Saturdays! I tested out the schedule earlier this month, and I was overwhelmed by the enthusiasm! Over 100 people came to have me clean their ears! Weh!!

There have been 4 streams so far... one was a test, and two of which have been "First" Official streams. 🤭

I'm considering downloading the ASMR VODs (videos on demand) and uploading them to YouTube as several people apparently enjoyed them enough to go back and fall asleep to them after the stream, and it'd be a nice memento of the times we spend together!

It was so, so fun hanging out and testing triggers with you! I'd love to make it a weekly fixture over on Twitch starting in 2021, so that I can hang and chill out with you a few times a month!

Not only that, I was stunned to find that I've hit the requirements to apply for Partner over on Twitch!

Weh! That's... that's a lot faster than I was expecting--!

While I won't be applying just yet, I am definitely considering this moving forward, as YouTube is continuing to be a little unfriendly toward ASMRtists, particularly us animu centric ones ;; however, I will do my best not to anger the YT overlords as best I can!

I will continue doing non-ASMR related content over on Twitch as well, as well as debuting the VTuber model in early 2021. I hope you look forward to it!

I don't want to give too much away, but... you want fries with that?

Alongside the secret collaboration, I have also been working more on the Patreon exclusive audio "Date with Your Boss (Do It Or You're Fired)", as well as the collaboration piece, but it's been mostly script work, which I don't like to spoil. I'm going for a fun, flirty, drunk theme, so hopefully it'll be a nice addition for our 2021 waifu catalogue!

Early this month I also released the 3Dio Trigger Word compilation video! It was fun doing a video that was essentially created by the entire community, and I'd love to do more videos like it in order to celebrate each other!
Thank you again to everyone who submitted a trigger word! It was honestly really funny as well as sweet being able to slowly work my way through the list we compiled together.

This month will be our last Request a Roleplay poll until I work my way through our current backlog. As such, I've removed the perk from the $15 + $30 tiers, and will add it back once we've got the list down to a manageable size.

HOWEVER, you are still welcome to suggest what you might like to see in future audios. The best place to do so would be in the Discord (which is open only to Patreon members and Twitch subscribers) in the vividlyasmr discussion tab!
