An accursed name that earns uneasy glares from many just for carelessly uttering it.

Rather than venerated, this dark deity is feared by the denizens of Kemet, who in fact pray to other gods to be protected from Him. His reputation as keeper of the underworld and eater of souls earn him a unique reverence unlike that enjoyed by other Kemetist gods.  

Instead of worship, yearly rituals are performed to ensure the prevention of His ultimate goal: To rid the world of the sun itself by devouring it.
To this day, Kemet continues these rituals, even treating them as a cultural celebration, and charms to ward off the serpent of chaos are found throughout its homes. 

Yet, beneath the shadows...A particularly blasphemous school of thought ponders whether this so-called embodiment of destruction is as full of evil as the scriptures make Him out to be, choosing instead to portray Apep as an instigator of needed change, and a bringer of succor to the downtrodden. These harmless inquiries were all it took to spawn a dedicated, if highly secretive and doubly reviled religion in His name. 

Their belief is that if you simply open your mind to these questions, and allow yourself to say His name without fear...You may just be blessed with the sacred hiss of His voice upon your ears, and thus be chosen to bring about His return.
